Not sure why the felt the need to go with mood lighting this year. Felt very unnecessary, and made it just a tad more difficult to get around.

Like another poster said, the Odd Side stuff was excellent, as was RAM Cocoa Chaos, which kicked at about 8ish, I believe. One that I thought was underrated was 5 Rabbit Inigo Montoya. Really solid stout with good hazelnut presence. Fremont had Dark Star and Dark Star Spice Wars, both were delicious. Spice Wars was right next to Parabajava, which got crowded quickly.

Not sure if it's the alcohol or hyperbole talking, but this Weldwerks Peach Climacteric is one of the best new beers I've had in awhile. Just stellar.

Good to meet you Neil (from Weldwerks).

There's still a lot to love. PW The End of Days, PW The Jones Dog, Spiteful Malevolence Chocolate Caliente, FW Parabajava, Weldworks Mexican Achromatic, Wicked Weed Dark Arts, Oddside Hazel's Nuts, Oddside Hipster Brunch, Oddside Mexican Mocha, Half Acre Benthic, BCBS, Fremont Dark Star and Spice Wars, BP V@S, BP Black Marlin, Jackie O's Champion Ground, Jackie O's Oro Negro, Jackie O's BBBM, Perrin No Rules and Unfinished Business, and probably a lot more that I'm forgetting. I'm sure you'll be alright.

The 3 Jackie O's offerings, the 3 Fremont offerings, Parabajava (I missed out), Weldwerks Mexican Achromatic, Malevolence Chocolate Caliente, the Oddsides - almost all of the big stouts are in the last row on the left. That area was insanely crowded, especially for the first hour of the fest.

Mexican Achromatic was the first to kick this afternoon, according to twitter. And yes, Parabajava and Malevolence both kicked quickly as well.

Thanks for this info - I'm going tonight and really want to try Parabajava and Mexican Achromatic, and possible Malevolence, so I'll probably head right to those.

My two cents: Malevolence is honestly easily the best of all the "Mexican" stouts, discounting DB Huna b1. I would go there first if I were you.

Great meeting you and getting a chance to talk to you. The peach climacteric was a highlight for me last night, definitely top 3.

Congrats to @DESTIHLbrewery for their GOLD in Strong Porter/Stout for their beer, 'Dosvidanya Rye'

I loved this beer last year. The rye was significantly better than the regular bourbon barrel.

    Any feedback on Miskatonic?
I enjoyed their Grendel and Revenant at the brewery and I am curious about impressions from the show.

I *think* these are my top 5 beers today. And Imbibe was totally worth it to try a ton of great beers in the first hour:

    5 Templeton Rye 2013
    4 Prop 14
    3 Weldworks BA Mexican stout
    2 Odd Sides Hazel's Nuts
    1 Weldworks Peach sour

Great FOBAB, but Goose booth sucked compared to last year. Super long line and only got to try regular. I left close to the end. Did they even tap Prop, Coffee or Templeton Rye? Early Saturday session

Every cider, sour, and wild ale I had was incredible. No Rules, Hazel's Nuts, Hazelnut Infused El Inigo Montoya, The Jones Dog, Chickow!, Parabajava, and the Single Malt Whiskey Victory at Sea were also stand outs for me.

As far as Prop '16 is concerned it is one of the most complex beers I've ever had. I could have sipped those 2 ounces over the course of an hour. This was not the time or the place to be judging that beer. It also definitely needs some time for things to mellow out. It tasted like Bourbon County, scotch, chili peppers, and dark chocolate. Every sip was a little different.

Last year Malevolence was one of my favorites at the fest. This year I thought something was off with it. Not nearly as good as I remembered.

It might have something to do with the fact that I had it right after Weldwerks BA Mexican Achromatic, which blew away Malevolence this year IMO.
