They've only announced that GA tix go on sale Sept 16th. I'm sure more specifics will be announced on Monday after the pre-sale ends. I would imagine the GA tickets will go on sale at 10am on Universe as this was the case today for the pre-sale (& last year for GA tix).

Last year, each GA ticket was $63.99 ($60 + $3.99 service fee). I did the pre-sale this year, and the pricing is the same. Was happy to see this bc they've been raising prices every year for a few years now.

    Looking forward to it!

"IM" is printed on the ticket under the event title. Also, iirc from last year, there were volunteers going through the imbibe line prior to the event checking ID's against a printed list they had of all members and putting on wristbands.

From the e-mail: There is (sic) a certain amount of pre-sale tickets allotted for each session. If one session becomes unavailable, then all pre-sale tickets allocated for that session are SOLD OUT.

Bottom line - don't wait too long to buy the pre-sale tickets.

How many tickets can you buy? 1,2,3,4?

1 - to clarify that's one ticket for an early entrance session. I suspect when they open it up for general admission you can buy up to 4.

This is probably a stupid question and if it is I apologize but at FOBAB is there any way to purchase extra sampling tickets or is it 20 samples and you're done?

not stupid, just asked every year. the consensus seems to be that in the past additional tickets were available for purchase but the likelihood that you'd need to buy any is very low primarily because the ticket takers often do not actually take tickets. especially if you're a woman.

In previous years they tried doing tickets and it was kinda lasie fair. Some volunteers pouring took a ticket, some didn't. Either way, no one end up running out of tickets unless you tried.

Last year, they made your program a punch card that required the volunteers to all have pens and cross off a "ticket" on your card before they poured a beer.

That lasted for less than 2 min the first day, and it was essentially a free for all the rest of the weekend.

Hopefully they'll go that route again.

How quickly do these tickets generally go? Friend and I will be on a motorcycle trip and will be fighting to get tickets.

Additional tickets can be purchased.. They're like $1 per ticket and all beers are 1 ticket/punch.

Odds you'll need to though - as stated... Very slim.

The event is ticketed because it has to be. Legal requirement in IL to track the amount of beer going over the table (super simplifying this, btw).

Buuuuutt....... The only time I've ever had my tickets taken was 2 years ago after one of the supervisors got wind and started cracking the whip. I think it lasted all of about 10-15 minutes before we were back to "here have a beer"

Anyone know if imbibe members have early access Saturday night? Last year they did not, I think it was just Friday night and Saturday afternoon. Thanks

Seconded. I've heard non-IMBIBE tix go on sale at 10am CT but haven't seen that made official anywhere and haven't seen a link to a site for purchase.

Similar to what others said, I was there for 2 sessions and I think the entire time I only had 4-5 total boxes checked the entire weekend. For some of the more popular tables, it would only make things go much slower if they had to take time to check off a box.
