FoBAB 2018

It was Bottle Logic’s Fundamental Observation that kicked third after Three Floyd’s and Hanna. Had the chance to have a few FO variants in August on a work trip, excellent offering.

Modern Times is unfortunately not at FOBAB. Firestone Walker, Mikkeller, The Bruery /Bruery Terreux and The Lost Abbey are a few of the CA breweries at the event.

 

Casey was not there.

How much did the metal detectors slow things down? Did you have to take everything out of your pockets, belts off, etc.? Or just a "I've got a belt on, the alarm is going to go off" "OK, come on through". And the coat check wasn't a cluster this year? Incredible.

 

Anyone's volunteer free session ticket disappear after they checked in, worked their shift, and checked out? Hoping this will remedy itself before I have to contact them

The link sent yesterday didn't work after checking out of my volunteer duties didn't work either.

I sent an email to the Volunteer Coordinator email address on the way home, and this morning a new email was sent with a link that worked.

This was my first time volunteering FOBAB or any beer event. I was impressed by the great job the coordinator Art Golk and all of his leadership team did to run the event from registration to checkout. Also worked with great people, both my team lead and the team I was on.

 

It’s hitting distro I heard.

 

I wasn’t a big fan of Chickow in past years but the Vanilla Bourbon Chickow was great.

The metal detectors were a minor delay but not bad as far as I could tell.

So, as you will soon find out, the metal detector slows everything down to filter people through so no mad rush except those right up front... and they have coat check down to a science. Top 5 that kicked in early session are Chemtrailmix (under 1 oz pours), Karma, FO, Mehndi, lost abbey Kriek. All solid. Karma not like last years. Personal favorites include cinnamon Benthic, Vanilla Chickow, Exit Strategy Peaches, collective brewing doom slayer.
