A handful of the biggest whales will kick or just about kick before 6, during the hour early entry for IMBIBE members, and then several more during the rest of the night, but there will still be tons of beers that last all the way through.

If you arrive at 6:30 you will almost certainly not have to wait in line to enter.

 

I would still suggest lining up 1.5 hours early just to get through the line quicker. You can race around and try some good stuff without lines in that first 15-20 minutes after open before the place becomes so packed it gets hard to even move through the aisles.

 

Perhaps. And you mention getting there 1.5 hours early to get to the whales before they kick and the aisles get crowded. Sounds like the definition of an overcrowded shitshow. Thanks for agreeing with me. Have fun.

If you want to have access to the top stuff I recommend getting in line about an hour beforehand. The line will be long at 630.

FoBaB virgin here, how early would folks recommend getting in line if you've got imbibe? Is a half hour reasonable or is stupider than that? I assume there are two different lines and it's not a mess?

 

There have been in the past two different lines--one for IMBIBE early entry and one non-early. I'm sure there will be this year as well.

I haven't done early entry in at least two years so someone who has more recently should chime in. When I did it we arrived about 30 minutes or so before entry and were probably a few dozen people back from the start of the line.

 

Yeah just roll over after brunch/lunch. The line will look long but it moves really fast. If you get there at 11:30 you will be in the More line by 12:05 lol

 

I used to do an hour prior, but when I last went on Friday eve session in 2016, people seemed to have adopted the same plan. I'd do 1.5 hours next time.

 

Second question. I know that they will list brewers, but will they also list what specific beers each brewer will be bringing?

 

Since it’s a competiton there won’t be an official list beforehand but during the 1st session people will post photos of the program. You can also watch social media - breweries may lost what they’ll bring.
