There will be pours outside too, so I think we will want the coats. So go ahead and make that 3 fobabs in a row where I have NOT gotten my coat stolen!

Isnt the venue big enough to where it can all be inside? where would they do it outside?

In the porta-potties so it won't smell as bad for the volunteers pouring the beer.

Never have been to the venue before, from the website “This year, FoBAB will take place at the Credit Union 1 Arena in Chicago. Two limited attendance tasting sessions and a larger venue will enable greater social distancing and a more intimate festival experience. Brewers will be staged throughout the main floor, around the concourse and outdoors, and expanded food options will be available throughout the venue.”

There some pictures of the venue's interior on line. it looks like the main floor is about what you'd expect for a basketball court or hockey rink, which I think is smaller than the floor space used at the UIC Forum. So I see why they would have to put some brewers in the concourses, but putting them outside in November seems like a bad idea. I guess we'll find out soon enough.

It's going to be 35 degrees tonight. Outside would have to be tented with heaters.

It doesn't *have* to. There are certainly outdoor winter festivals out there. But I am curious to hear what they're doing.

The site mentions fire pits. I would not expect much respite from the cold in the outdoor spaces.

Well, "we" also pretty much spent a year drinking outdoors in parking lots so this doesn't seem to be too insane. In fact I kinda miss drinking in parking lots.

Wife can’t make the Saturday 1pm-5pm so I have a ticket for 60 available, which is pretty well below cost, if any needs one or knows someone interested. Thanks!

Oh yes I feel bad for the volunteers pouring outside. I figured the outside set up was a Covid option for people with different comfort levels. That or would be hilarious if they put all the hype beers outside

I have to assume this is what the outside area is, the floor of the Credit Union UIC Pavilion 1 Arena is huge. Plus they are putting brewers up in the concourse, plus you can go sit in any seat you want. So not sure why they would have to be outside. In fact. I'm willing to bed all 350 competition entered beers are on the main floor and the concourse will have Goose and Phase Three (who are sponsoring and pouring Lulz seltzer and other non-ba beers). Looks like there's gonna be plenty of room especially with it not being sold out yet.

I’m just here for people complaining about having to venture outside in November for a pour of 15% barrel aged stout after not having FOBAB in 2020.

I wonder what the ticket count is at right now because it looks like I can go on the site and buy 50 tickets right now. It doesn't look like being anywhere near close to sold out and I wonder if that has anything to do with the Vax card checks.

I think there are two sides to that though; the other being that the vax card checks are the only reason some people would even consider going.

Actually we should be giving thanks, fobab finally heard years of our message boards talking about the progressive flatulence issue, so lactose heavy beers outside!

I agree with that. I think its responsible of them to check for vax cards. I guess we will see what the show out is tonight.

At first I thought "oh I bet Goose is outside" and then I wrote that whole thing up there about how they are probably on the concourse. Shoulda went with my gut, Goose is outside.
