I picked up two to-go totes today. Most “sound” good but no idea until I start trying them. Anyone out there know if I got any whales or just glorified shelfies?

I have nothing to help with, but wanted to say thank you for sharing. Hope others do as well. Real curious what people get from the totes.

 

Half of those sound like fake breweries…

 

I wonder if that was due to a corporate policy related to Covid as I believe GI usually has employees pouring.

 

I don't think you got any whales, but that doesn't mean there aren't really excellent beers in there. I've had sunburnt mirth (but not the vanilla variant) and feral one and both were great.

I had a similar experience with my two fobab to go totes: a few standouts (jackie o's , hailstorm, and whiskey hill BA stouts, arclight soursmith) and then a smattering of random others. I wasn't expecting to get a whales and maybe I would have done "better" just spending $120 at a good bottleshop, but I still enjoy the luck of the draw.

Landed Minutiae 2021 and Cerebral “Here Be Monsters” amongst a few others in one bag. Pretty excited with the pull.

 

I like it because

For sure. I’m exited to try them all. And TBH I probably wouldn’t venture out and buy some of these at a bottle shop so I appreciate the randomness of it.

 

I lucked out with Prop 2021. Was unreasonably excited to see it after missing out on all BCBS lotteries so far.

I've had the 3mo Koval Bourbon barrel version and liked it, so I'm stoked for the 9mo Weller version.
