How impossible are these tickets to get? Airfare to Chi is stupid cheap right now and I'm considering booking. If I'm online ready to go when they go on sale is it still possible to get shut out?

Tickets lasted almost an hour last year, at least for the evening session. They'll probably go faster this year because that's just how things go nowadays.

That said, GI Belgian Fest tickets lasted quite a while longer than (at least I) expected.

belgian fest tickets weren't really posted or talked about on here, that's why I suspect they lasted. Also I bet the fine folks on BA were unaware the ever popular 'sour' beer is usually a Belgian. Stout fest tickets sold out in seconds and I assume both sessions to FOBAB this year will sell out in minutes, if I had to guess. Christ, this is the second FOBAB thread for an event in November.

Tickets lasted longer last year due to the 'Limit 1 Ticket' requirement that took place when it went on sale. No telling what will happen this year as the Limit 1 may have been a mistake as it was changed with increased limits around 15 minutes after the initial on-sale, if I recall correctly.

It's the second thread because tickets go on sale in 6 days. Also, I guarantee you tickets won't sell out in minutes. They do the limit one for the first half hour on purpose. This is so the rush of people can get tickets. Then, after the initial hit, they open it up to a larger amount. Last year you could have purchased like 10 tickets and it still didn't sell out for a good hour. Not to mention random tickets popping up on BPT over the release week.

Even if you get shut out of a FOBAB ticket, I'm sure you can find a fun Beerventure in Chicago that evening or the next day. I think The Map Room had their anniversary party the next morning, complete with a keg of BA Dark Lord.

that limit one was on purpose because I remember them posting something on facebook about that being an error, but maybe Im wrong. Either way, I bet its a faster ticket this year but lets hope not.

Tickets last year were somewhere in the high 40's after all the processing fees IIRC.

It was my understanding that tickets would go on sale at 10am on the 21st. But the link above states they won't go on sale until noon. I wonder why there is a discrepancy between the FoBAB official page and BPT.

I caught that too. It could be that the FoBAB page changed the date and not the time, or that BPT made a mistake. I would guess that since BPT is automated, that would be the time to use, unless it changes again before then.

    (But I'll still try at 10:00a anyways:wink:).
