I just read that FB will be available at their new brewery (as will Heady) by the case when they open this summer. Good Lord!

This will either flood the market (and I'll finally get to try some), or people are going to have plenty of FB and Heady to trade for other rare beers....

    Source?

This has been the party line w/the new brewery.....and there's just enough of it at bars around Burlington/Waterbury/Montpelier to really stoke the anticipation. Great beer -- Cannot wait.

It used to be available at the truck sales in a mixed case usually with the likes of the Crusher or something else.

I thought they weren't planning on using the new brewery to expand production of HT. Was that incorrect information or have they changed their plans for the new place?

It's a win/win situation either way so it's not a terribly big deal whatever the case may be

I literally cannot wait to be able to actually find Alchemist beers that I can take home when I make my yearly pilgrimage to Vermont.

Unless something changed, my understanding was that the Waterbury location will continue to be the production facility for HT and the new Stowe location was going to be dedicated to producing FB and some of John's roughly 70 beers whose recipes / notes floated away in the Sandy flooding (as well as some new creations... no doubt).

It sure looks like they are making some serious progress in terms of getting the Stowe location up and running. Sure am looking forward to a visit later in the year

What are evetyones guesses as to how early people get there opening day. My guess is at least the day before. With being able to drink focal at bars but not take it home, I think there is a ton of anticipation. The trade forum will go nuts with crazy trade offers like the second to last dinner release.

It was actually tropical storm Irene that devastated VT and the old Alchemist brewpub, Sandy didn't get us too bad.

I'm not surprised by this, except perhaps by the quantity that is purchasable. I certainly hoped to be able to get those Alchemist beers I've never tried. I kick myself that despite hearing about it, and having a place in Rochester, VT, I never stopped in and then Irene took it from us (it also took the bridge across the White River we need to get to the house).

Everything I had read including very recently (just don't remember where) is that Waterbury will be exclusive Heady production after Stowe go-live. They will drive Heady up to Stowe for retail and will reduce the amount of Heady in distribution to bars/restaurants.

Whatever day they open the new brewery, go to one of the other top tier breweries in VT and enjoy the peace and quiet!
