    Saw a bunch of small delis post they had cans of Focal Banger recently. Of course they were all sold out by the time I got there, but does anyone know what's up with this? Will it be a regular thing? Also how much were the cans selling for? (I'm guessing the amount is laugh out loud stupid).

    Not sure what the deal is, but a very limited amount was up for grabs at a local place by me in PA (Horsham) a week or so ago. Pissed the locals off something awful when they let the line grow, but didn't specify they only had one case to sell.

    A bartender at my local beer bar told me that he heard this latest drop of Alchemist beers (i.e., Heady Topper, Focal Banger) was to celebrate the Eagles winning the Super Bowl. He went on to say that John Kimmich is allegedly an Eagles fan.

    I am a bit skeptical of this explanation but if true maybe we will get some more next year when the Eagles win the Super Bowl again!?!:slight_smile:

    Cheers!

    @NickCaff @jefftennis

    Maybe the PA 'connection' was strong enough for him? I am pretty sure that if he is a Steelers fan he was not rooting for the Patriots. Maybe if the Steelers couldn't win the AFC Championship and thereby win the Super Bowl the Eagles were a good team to celebrate?

    Anyhow, I would be interested in hearing why you think 'all of sudden' we received some Alchemist beers in the Philly area.

    Fly Eagles fly!

    Cheers!

    They have sent some cans down in the past I think , though not often. I like the idea that is was for the super bowl win though.

    Might be expansion? Heady and Focal get sporadic distribution around NYC and Long Island these days, and the cans sit longer than one would expect. I remember the days when Heady, Focal, and Sip would be back-room deals at bottle shops for $10/can. Now Sip dusts it up on shelves like a pair of Birdman Lugz at Footaction and Alchemist beers no longer generate hysteria.

    What a time to be alive.

    I read (on here I think) that it was planned to be for the big game but the cans arrived late.

    Philly got around 500 cases of Focal and 80 cases of Heady.

    I paid $7 a can for Focal in center city at VIP Market. They might still have some.

    I’m sure there are some bars that might have some left. No idea which ones that would be however.

    Don't think it was a Super Bowl tie in. NYC got a shipment the same week as Philly did.

    Not the first time Alchemist has randomly dropped beer in Philly, though it only happened twice before that I recall, and one of those times the beer never made it to the store shelves.

    They distribute more during the spring. I believe it is "mud season/ snow season" up north making driving some roads tough and foot traffic at the brewery slows down. I think I paid like $17 for a 4 pack of Focal never saw any Heady this time around.
