Focal Banger Distribution

    So The Alchemist came out today and said that they have the final recipe and can design for Focal Banger and will be holding a release party in March. At the same time they mentioned that the pop up truck sales, which had been the only way to get your hands on Focal Banger, are not going to be occurring anymore due to the events growing too large. Instead, they will be selling tickets to enter into a lottery and if your name is pulled you will get to attend the party and receive your case. If your name isn't pulled you get your money back. My two questions are:

    1) When do you think we can expect to see Focal Banger in regular distribution like Heady Topper?
    2) What does this mean for the future access of Crusher, Petit Mutant, etc? Will these limited release parties be the new truck sale until the new Stowe location is open?

    1) I'm only guessing but I don't think you'll see Focal Banger in distribution until the Stowe location is open.
    2) I also think even after the stowe location is open your going to see these lottery ticket system events for all speical releases. Whether it's a party or just a lottery to pick up the beer.

    PS: I'm a fan of the lottery system. When done right, the lottery levels the playing field so much for everyone. I think most people seem not to like it because it takes the power out of their hands. I'm one of those guys who has no problem sitting in the cold outside a VT brewery for 4 hours before a beer I really like is released. With the lottery I lose that advantage, but gain an extra 4 hours of sleep in my warm bed. :slight_smile:

    The way I understood it, the new brewery was going to be focusing on Focal Banger and others while the older facility still brewed all of the HT for distribution. The blog announcement today definitely made it sound like Focal would see regular distribution prior to the Stowe opening.
