While on the subject, saw, but didn't buy the Arrogant Bastard four packs for $19.99. Now that is a great deal.

Seems like a great deal till you buy it for the Bourbon Arrogant bastard, taste it, realize it was a gimick, and that stone tricked you into buying the first bottle of Arrogant Bastard you've bought in years.

I hear their DIPA became a 22 oz after all the negative feedback they received because of price and smaller format. Is that true?

Yup, that is true. Got one for my coworker who had gotten me one, and he was shocked that I what I reciprocated with was a big boi.

It was 22oz at the brewery in October. Never saw the prior bottle. $8 for 22oz isn't cheap, but is on par with others.

    Here
"The Imperial India Pale Ale has 8.2% ABV and is bottled in 1 Pint 0.9 oz (500ml) containers."
Had my first in July or August, packaged in that format. Price was fair either way, great beer that was readily available on my last VT trip (in 22 oz bombers, now).

They were selling them in 500ml bottles not to long ago. They were charging $10.99 for it. It was a one and done for me.

By most standards, Hill Farmstead is in the middle of nowhere. The website used to have directions to the brewery with advice to not follow your GPS since it didn't recognize the address correctly. My biggest issue with HF are the non Vermonters that are driving 4WD SUVs and think they're invincible on the local roads and dirt road to the brewery. Respect those that choose to drive responsibly.

Also I've made the drive from Waterbury and Montpelier to Boston and Albany area the day after snow storms. And the roads were barely plowed the next morning both times.

This tread just keeps getting funnier, I can not tell you how many "4WD vehicles" I have pulled out of ditches on the way to Greensboro. The roads are not the problem, it's totally a driver issue.

I drove my non-4WD Scion to HF fresh after a snowstorm and just picked out the road location based on the packed down swath of snow. It went just fine, so yes I think part of it is a driving issue...

Roads not plowed at all today during the storm. Never travel during a storm.

And a tire issue... real snow tires make a huge difference, 4WD or not. My wife's business is on a backroad. She tries to do most of her deliveries down in town to avoid issues, but there are always a few clients who think they'll be fine in the snow because they have 4WD (minus real tires). We pull them out with our little 35hp tractor, unless they are too heavy, then they're just screwed. The thing about 'all season' tires is that they are made of fairly hard rubber so they can survive the summer without losing all their tread. When this stuff freezes in winter it might as well be the p-tex on your skis; forget about traction or stopping. They will sort of work on the interstate most of the time, but not very well elsewhere.

My town roads were not plowed today, 4-12" during the commute home, depending on elevation. AWD + studded snow tires - no problem.

Unless you live right on a state or national highway, road maintenance deficiencies are the fault of your town, not the state, just so you know who to yell at. True, many towns do a terrible job (my town of Duxbury on occasion, and yes, I yell a lot).

Has anyone stayed overnight at Foley in the rooms they rent out? Could be a really cool experience if the Foley brothers were around and you got to stay up late drinking Fair Maiden and chatting about beer, but im not sure if thats a completely unrealistic expectation of what staying there would be like.

And yeah, don't trust the GPS 100% when leaving Hill Farmstead. There are legit roads to get there, and there are much less legit "roads" that you can take.

Any chance of Fair Maiden showing up in MA again? I found it a few months ago at Redstone Liquors and enjoyed it but that was the only time I've seen it in MA.
