To me, all they've got to do if they want to make it less crazy is lower the bottle limit. At a certain point it will not be worth it to get there but so early if doing so will not allow you to get any more bottles than someone who showed up much later. That would make it last longer on release day and anything left over could be gobbled up by locals in the subsequent days. Yes, you will still have the cutoff at some point and someone will be the first person to miss out, but it would hurt a lot less.

I could be oversimplifying this a little bit, but to me that seems like a much easier way to ease the crush without having to pay some web service to do pre-orders.

I'm almost always in favor of lowering limits first and foremost. 3 was already pretty low for Sal, and that's great, but I think anytime you're certain you're going to sell out, the limit should be 2.

Agreed. 3 was pretty low, but they've done limit 2 before (Jitterbug I'm pretty sure and possibly another). I thought it was curious that Sun Gold and Land Trust had similar bottle counts but had significantly different limits. That's why Land Trust lasted until Sunday I would imagine.

Half the 'problem' with Sal (and the same will probably be true when BR&L is released) is that people tried it before at the Meemaw release and knew it was awesome. Not quite the same for stuff that people haven't had until the day of the release and may 'only' be good (I don't think I've had anything from FF that wouldn't at least qualify as good, though some are flavors I'm not really interested in).

A bunch of reviews on untappd claiming soured/infected Sal bottles. I shared one the other day that was still good, but definitely not where it was at the release. I tossed my other bottles in the fridge just in case.

    Any other reports?

I did have a bottle that was most definitely infected. Extremely sour, lost all its chocolate goodness, no good. But then the next bottle I drank was amazing.

I sent one to my buddy in PA a couple weeks ago, and he said it was drinking amazing.

Can an admin please change "Fanta" in the subject line of this thread to "Fonta"? Please and thanks. My OCD is acting up.

I'm hoping to stop by tomorrow afternoon. Does anyone know if they do growler fills of anything?
    Thanks!

Yes, they do growler fills unless they're on the last keg of a beer (denoted by a ! on the board). 64 & 32 oz, their own growlers only.

Right now you can get growler fills of: Hop Beard, Double Hop Beard, Micro Flora, Wild Flora, and Irish Table. They still have a few bottles of Beets, Rhymes & Life left for sale, and I think they should still have a few bottles of Need A Hug left in the cooler for in-house consumption only.

Hoping there are still some bottles of BRL left over on Saturday. I might have to do the half day trip for that.

I think there should be. I'll be going by there on Friday evening so I'll try to remember to look at how much is left and I'll either comment here or send you a message.

I was there on Saturday and they had about two and a half cases of BR&L ($16/bottle with no limit as I recall) sitting behind the bar. As far as hug and shrug for on-site consumption, they were completely out of hug and had three bottles of shrug left.

was BR&L a silent release? i remember them trying to release during the last big release but it wasn't ready. I may have missed the announcement, but I don't believe I did.
