Aren't you a Phish fan? You should have online sales down to a science then.

Hahaha I am, what gave it away? And funnily enough, for the Raleigh show last year I went up to the Walnut Creek box office a couple hours early for the on-sale and scored 4th row tickets, so sometimes it pays to be old school! There were a bunch of people in line, but I was the only one who brought beer...bunch of amateurs if you ask me.

Fuck ticket stress man. I have been on the losing end too many times with online ticketing.

I want to see a membership program. Where the members can be allotted a certain amount of bottles and can pick up a different day than release day.

What Fonta Flora is doing now works well for them and the consumer, for the most part. Unfortunately, some people get left out. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. If you aren't able to make it that day, there are other reasons to visit the brewery another time and enjoy their fine craft besides just the bottle releases.

Sal was probably an outlier since people had tried it before. Though I guess the same is true of urban monk. Still sad I missed Sal.

Agreed. Can't take off all Saturday for beers. I will from time to time but you wind up dumping the kids on your spouse. What would be perfect but the logistics would be too much would be presale and then give people that day to pick up. That way you can go pick up and leave if you have to. At the end of the day anything left will be sold immediately. Whatcha think? I just don't like the standing in line all day for a release. Just complaining really. If I want it I'll have to do it

Presales are a great thing for those who cant stand around for hours in line. However, if they can't do them yet, but maybe in the future, then so be it.

In the debate between pre-sales and standing in line, I am surprised nobody has suggested an earlier start time. I don't mind standing in line but to wait until 3:00 kills the whole day. Has any consideration been given to having an earlier distribution with food available for lunch. I missed the last release but I recall standing in line for Meemaw with the BBQ vendor not having any food available until .3:00 - I arrived just before lunch and was starving by the time the BBQ was ready.

That fixes the hunger issue but not the wasting the entire day issue  Seems like a pain though to change the schedule for everyone working for one day every month or two.

That's an option but I would rather support a local business.

There's this awesome little coffee shop called the Grind with great sandwiches. Additionally, there is Mountain Burrito and Moondog pizza. Those 3 places are as local as you can get. Pick some up on the way, or get in line, claim your spot, and I'm sure people will hold your spot.

@Yaoverstand suggested starting earlier on bottle release days. I could get on board with this one. The one that was early in the morning went pretty well I thought. Even if it's not that early, would be good sometimes.

how would you feel about a presale if the purchase of a full allotment was the only available option?

I also really liked the early open the day of the 4 farms event.

Well most of the ones I've been too have been a minimum of 6, and up to 12, so it's not a huge deal since I'm use to it.
