Just found out about this one. Apparently its a trend now for craft breweries to make AAL's. Anyone have thoughts on it or where its available ? Btw, they have a bunch of new beers out with different style labels but their website still has the old beers with the old labels listed.

Haven’t seen any mention of adjuncts in this. Not all light lagers use adjuncts and at 4.8%, this isn’t that light.

The brewer himself doesnt say its an AAL with adjuncts but BA lists it as an AAL. Thats where I got confused.

Was in Newport a few weekends ago, and this was one of the six packs I picked up for hanging out for the non-IPA drinkers among us. I bought from a liquor store in Middletown. I thought it was meh, definitely on the light side. I still have a can that I brought home, I'll post a picture and detailed review on here tonight if I remember.

We stopped by the Foolproof brewery later but only had time for one beer and then picked up some cans. The Black IPL they had on tap was pretty good. And the cans of Vanilla Espresso Raincloud were good even though they were a few months old.

Clear, lighter golden color, foamy white head that fades within a minute or so. Aroma is a bit grainy, my amatuer opinion would be that there may be some corn used. No real hop component in the aroma or taste. Flavor is fairly clean, and a bit sweet. Thin bodied, and fizzy carbonation .

Overall seems somewhere between a Helles lager and an AAL.

Thanks. Next time I visit the brewery I'll ask them if they use corn in it.

Well the Lager was kind of disappointing. 9.49 for a 6 pack of 16oz cans seems like a good deal but the quality doesnt match the pricing. It is not way way better than a Gansett Lager which is quite a few bucks cheaper. This had a kind of sour lemony taste that I just didnt think fit with the style. Doesnt taste like there's adjuncts in there but am not certain. Hop presence was very minimal. Somehow the sourness made it less refreshing that it should be.
