Release set for Saturday, August 25. More details coming in July.
It’s usually better than the regular for the last several years.
Last one I had was a 2015. Was great!
Bourbon Barrel Aged COFFEE Sexual Chocolate.
Is this real life?
Tapping on Saturday (not Friday like BA SEXY) - bombers available too.
They like us, they really, really like us!
Since they put coffee in their stouts, maybe now they will make hazy IPA's! Looks like they are starting to "get it" that they need to evolve in this beer world we are in! I don't have high hope for them putting flaked oats in their IPA's though!
Finally. Our dreams are coming true.
The BA Sexy days have been some of the most EPIC bottles shares I have been to.
I've heard great things about the guy running Footnote, their coffeeshop next door. Maybe Foothills just had to find the right coffee to make this happen.
I’m more than interested now!
For starters, in addition to our regular bottles of BASC, we are bottling/kegging a brand new version of the beer. You know that hip coffee roasting joint we opened earlier this year, Footnote? Well, Joe our head coffee roaster (yes that’s really his name) has selected some very special Peruvian beans to roast, which we will infuse into a select few barrels of BASC. We’ll then have a limited bottling of Coffee Infused Barrel Aged Sexual Chocolate (CIBASC), which will be on sale exclusively at our downtown pub on Saturday of Release Weekend.
This coffee varient turned out absolutely fantastic! Regular BBA was a tad sweet to my taste, but the coffee addition cut that very nicely! Also drivin’ from Raleigh their was no line when I arrived ‘round 8:15am.
When I left just past 10:30am they said they still had plenty of everythin’ to go ‘round, but only three cases left of 2010 Sexual Chocolate.
They really did do a nice job with both this year.
Popped open a coffee last night, and damn, it's good. Works so well with the barrel and chocolate. Very impressed.
Picked one up Saturday. Looking forward to reviewing it.
I tried a Coffee one over the weekend at the pub and it was excellent.
Apparently my restaurant secured a keg of BA Sexual Chocolate Coffee, so I wonder if it will start to see any distro?
No idea when we’re gonna tap it, but we’ll likely try and set up an “event.”
As per usual, "but make sure you stop by every week in case we do a 'surprise' tapping!!"
That said, it seems like Foothills has played kegs of BBA Sexual Chocolate a little closer to their vest this year. IIRC, several places had kegs by this time last year and a lot more places had bottles. Perhaps they're trying to save more for on-premise sales at their locations through the rest of the year... Blind speculation encouraged, of course!
Sam's Quik Shop is having an event next Monday with the variant on tap.
