Foothills Papa Jade Double IPA

im trying to arrange a growler of Mecktoberfest from Olde Mecklinburg right now.

 

Will hit taps in about 2 weeks. Just did the 3rd round of dry hopping. Went by the bar today to get a growler of Jade and had a few BBL Seeing Doubles.

Bartender said 10-14 days until taps

 

That's all correct.

 

Any update on this. Maybe this weekend?

 

Bartender at the BASC party said ready next week. Friday maybe?

 

I will be in WS for a wedding on Saturday, was hoping to swing by the brewery for lunch and suds. Maybe I will be lucky enough to score some.

 

when at Foothills last weekend for BASC we inquired about Papa Jade and received a stern talking to that it was NOT called Papa Jade and to not refer to it as such. it is to be called Imperial Jade.
we laughed and said that maybe the Foothills staff on BA should stop calling it Papa Jade but the bartender appeared quite serious and repeated himself. there was no further laughing...

 

Lol. I think they even referred to it as Papa Jade in their email newsletter. Maybe somebody was sleep deprived

 

Ok.....When does Big Daddy Imperial Jade make his appearance then?

 

Not this weekend I called today.

 

I'm going to try to get over to the pub this week and get Papa Jade racked. Hopefully we'll have it on by late in the week this next week.

 

Possibly mid week, the specific gravity still wasn't quite right yet. As of 5 today.

Thinking about stopping into the brewpub tonight for dinner. Are you doing any growler fills or pub only?

 

Staggeringly bitter.

 

How about some feed back on those who've tried it? I'm thinking too much hops not enough malt backbone to carry this. DIPA's need more malt to carry the enormous hops to balance things, this one is not balanced at all. IMO regular Jade is much better.

 

Had it Friday and I did not think it was bitter. Nice pine hoppy freshness with a bit of fruit in there and the booze was well disguised. What's the ABV on this?
