Foothills / Wake Forest

    Hey gang! My wife is at Wake Forest this weekend for a conference and is hoping to bring back some Foothills bottles to the Mid-South. She went to grad school there years ago and, at the time, they weren't selling bottles at the brewpub. Are they selling them there now; if not, where's a local place to pick up some bottles; what should she keep an eye out for?

    Thanks in advance. I appreciate the help and will enjoy sharing some Foothills beer with Mississippi folk!

    They are selling bottles at the brewery. Should have torch pils, peoples porter (maybe some BA left), hoppyum all in bombers. Endo iPa, Carolina strAwberry and cottonwood pumpkin should all be in 6ers. Get you a growler of jade or other BA iPa which they should still have on tap.

    You could also head to city beverage and pick up more local NC brews there. A bit $$$ however.

    Wake Forest the university or Wake Forest the small town north of Raleigh? If the former, JP has you covered. If the latter, Wine101 used to have a decent beer selection, but I haven't been there since my friend left there a year ago or so.

    From my experience at the brewpub, you can also walk away with a couple of bottles of Sexual Chocolate, provided you have a couple of bottles of Surly Darkness to trade.

    I would recommend Cottonwood Pumpkin. Its their newest bottled selection (12 oz tho), and its really good. Thick and sweet (not on the Pumking level, but still). Honestly, I didnt like Cottonwood Endo, at least the first batch they did. Ive been too scared to go back and try it, but have her grab a 12 oz bottle of that.

    On a side note, have her grab a growler of Jade AND Olde Hickory Death by Hops. Trust me:slight_smile:

    I 2nd that cottonwood pumpkin comment. Very nice pumpkin brew that has just the right amount of spice in it. Haven't had their endo iPa yet. I need to get by there and hit up the jade however. Maybe tonight.....

    I forgot to thank you all for the suggestions. My wife picked up a sixer of the Cottonwood Pumpkin, Carolina Strawberry, and bombers of Hoppyum and Octoberfest. I finally opened a bottle of the pumpkin and strawberry tonight and was very impressed with the pumpkin and enjoyed the strawberry. I appreciate the help and look forward to the next time she/we are in town.
