I am the same way it just went away even if I ate spicy food it was still gone. When I add back beer its almost immediate that I suffer again, lol so that sucks.
    :beers:

didn't do dry Jan. didn't even plan on doing it. But I did go 6 of the last 7 days without a drop. Not much choice: gout and liver is tired. .No major bock drinking for me this bock season. I figured last year was my last and I was right maybe??? 8 days ago i drank a plenty of bock beer in one day it was the straw that broke the camels back maybe

Not doing a dry January, but I have only been drinking on Friday and Saturday at most, usually, only 1 and limiting myself to 3 beers total per week. I did go over one weekend so make up for it by taking the next weekend off. I am down a few lbs and should be quite a few more by summer.

The biggest benefit so far is feeling better/more energy on the days following no drinking. I tend to eat better on the days that I do not drink (not always, but usually). I really look forward to that first beer on Friday/Saturday. They really do seem to taste better after several days in between.

I didn’t do dry January but I seriously intend to do a dry February (Plus this month is shorther than the 11 others.)

Not only beers or other booze though. It’s also a diet I am ‘imposing myself’ to lose 4-5kg (about 9pounds?) that will include food.

No more purchase of pizza whether at the supermarket or the takeaway. Any junk food banned too. Of course some red meal with beans or potatoes should be fine and the occasional salad and fishes.

Oh and of course not a single soda.

I’m not overweight or obese at all. Ideally would love to weigh just 75kg (165lbs) for my height (180 centimeters/5’11) can do this and will report in this thread by early March.

Cheers to a last beer before a month!

I've adopted more of an every other weekend approach to drinking. I generally don't drink during the work week anyhow as I have to be up by 5 AM on work days. so it's not that hard to stick with it. I've been on a "diet" for about a year and a half, and lost 43 lbs so far. I'm not willing to give up on beer completely, but unfortunately I have started to notice that the weeks off are better for me scale-wise.

I haven’t had a dry month. Whiskey is still empty calories after all... But I have quit drinking beer for an extended period of time after the Buckeyes football season ends the past 4 years. Assuming I make it till Friday, this will be the second time in 3 years I made it a month.

I don’t keep track of my weight, because I am always between 165 and 175 either way, and I tend to exercise a good bit and still try to use the free weights. I did take measurements a couple years ago and lost about 3 1/2” of my waist. This year it looks to be 2 belt notches. I also limit sugar and carbs intake and increase protein while I’m at it too because my metabolism isn’t what it once was.

Losing the bloated feeling, having less heartburn, and fitting comfortably into all my pants is refreshing. It would be harder without any alcohol (have done that for over a month too), but haven’t missed beer all that much. My first one will likely be something super hoppy.

My January was dry, as the last 14 months. My NA beer hobby has been a bit dormant for half a year, needed to lose weight. Today at the market found they have a lot of new NA beers, got some inspiration!

All in all being dry has equaled good.
