For Those interested in the Younger release. . . .

For San Diegans, I know we will likely have a slew of places that are tapping Younger...this was posted by EAH this evening:

"Younger Update - We are very honored to announce that we will be getting a keg of Younger at the Encinitas Ale House again this year. We plan on having another very mellow event this year, similar to last. We hope that as many of you as possible can try the sweet nectar. Details/dates to follow...as soon as we know, you will know."

 

It didn't rain last year. It poured like I've never seen. Bring real rain gear people. Not your Bruery hoodie and jeans.

 

Is there a hotel that everyone loves when going to Russian River? I stayed at the motel 6 to the north last time (near whole foods) and while they're pet friendly and the price was nice, the crack heads and other crazy people that never went to bed kinda make me want to think about another spot for my future RR trips.

 

Anyone in line currently?

A friend and I stayed at the Courtyard Marriott Santa Rosa a couple weeks ago and that will probably be my go-to in Santa Rosa from now on. Walk to and from wasn't too bad (~.5 miles each way) and while it's an older Courtyard, it's still clean and you know what you're getting. There's a Best Western a bit further south, roughly a mile away, that's not too bad as far as motels go. It was about $40 cheaper than the Courtyard, but I wouldn't feel quite as safe walking back to it at night.

 

Is there a list of places in the LA/OC area that get it? I'm not doing that trip like I did last year.
From what I remember, Ladyface, 38 Degrees, Beachwood, Surly Goat, Haven, Father's Office....
Anyone else want to share their honey hole?

Haha. I am staying in the extended stay America in Santa Rosa south. Those are usually built in ghetto areas but for 50/night? Steal. Think I'll just walk to the brewery around 6am

 

5:15 and the line had turned down d street. People are very spread out.

 

You are right, the years do get blended and I had to re-check to see which year I went. I did go Friday the second week in 2013 as we were planning on going Saturday morning, but drove by and saw that the line wasn't too bad and we got in about 2 hours. Sunny and no rain. The next morning we did get their super early to wait 530am since we had a group of about 10. Nobody was there at 530am - next person showed up probably closer to 6-630. But when we did leave that day around 1-2pm, we had asked the first people in line how long they had been waiting and they said about 8 hours.

Looks like this year is going to be very wet like last year.
