I get you are trying to be "fair" but I doubt I ever come back for a FR release if you are going to one line. I do not want to go to a release to stand around for an hour for beer. I will go to a release if while waiting I can have a few beers and maybe a schnitzel sandwich. Especially if I can just pick that beer up in distribution pretty easily.

 

I think plenty will still go to the release for an awesome beer.

 

I have no doubt this is correct. And I don't think it's that big of a deal either way.

But if I was going - there are times I'd probably rather sit inside, have a couple and maybe dinner if there were seats available. On the face that sounds like a win-win because then I'd be buying food, tap beer and the to-go beer. At the same time - it may be they just want the servers to be serving and the bartenders to be bartending.

 

I would assume this is the biggest reason. Release days seem to be their busiest days, and the servers are running around like mad people. So I completely understand the move.

That said, it was the one thing that I really liked about the releases. I would typically go work remotely for a couple of hours or so and have a few drafts and some dinner, then get my cans added to my tab. And as I'm older, I have little patience to wait in line these days. So I definitely won't be going for every release. But again, I completely understand it from a logistics perspective, and I have little doubt the line idea will affect most of you youngsters.

 

Stopped in to try night moth and hang with @KrajDoesBeer. This beer is really good and different. Has a lot going on in it but you have to let this sucker warm up. The last few sips of the glass were outstanding. Pumped to see how this develops over the next month.

 

Yeah, if it's one line, I'll probably just wait for it to hit distro.

There's definitely no incentive to show up early and spend money at the bar on food and drink now.

 

Aren't their other beers and food choices incentive enough?

For everyone who goes early and gets food/drinks, I'm sure there are more that will get food/drinks after waiting in the line.

Walked in a child, had a Betty White, and walked out a man. Hoooo, boy. It's pretty refreshing....then you get smacked in the mouth with Malort. Pretty sure I felt my chest hair growing as I sat there. Worth trying, but consider yourself warned.

I also tried Night Moth, which I really enjoyed. I'm really interested to see how it evolves.
