Curious which method you guys prefer. I've heard of force Carbing at 20psi for a few minutes or have it sit at dispensing pressure (I've heard 8-12psi).

    Which method do you use?
What pressures work best for you?

I usually use the slow set and forget method, i.e. carbonate at the same temperature and pressure as I will serve at. If you want to speed that up a little, but without shaking your keg, you can set your pressure to, say, 30 PSI for a day or so, then vent and reset the pressure to serving pressure to finish carbonating.

Your dispensing pressure depends on the desired carbonation level (volumes of CO2) and the temperature at which you are storing the keg. There are many charts for this on-line. BrewCipher has a calculator tab for it, as do other tools.

You'll also want to use beer line of an appropriate length to balance against the serving pressure, ensuring a good pour.

Depends on your time line...if you have a couple weeks to spare...serving pressure...if not, crank it up (and back it off)!

Wow. Thanks. It seems slightly more detailed than I expected. I'm still looking forward to it more than bottling though.

What size tubing do you all recommend?

3/16 for gas too? I have seen 5/16 red gas line as well.

Any size gas line will do. It's the liquid line that matters. 5/16" gas line is pretty common.

there is not too much to tubing, but here goes everything i can tell you.

3/16" ID x 7/16" OD is best. the ID is important, you really can't go smaller or larger without headaches.

use 7/16" OD and not 5/16" OD if possible. and use real beverage line, not any old vinyl tube. the increase in OD means the tube has thicker walls and will clamp much better. there is some improvements in oxygen perm too, but that is debatable.

gas line is 5/16". you can use whatever, but actual beverage gas line is great. it will remain flexible at 38F and still hold pressure. you can also use the braided stuff from HD or Lowes but it is a bit more clumsy. it's unlikely you would exceed the pressure rating, but check to be sure. as with bev line, gas line should be 5/16" x 9/16". the blue or red stuff is ideal. like @mikehartigan says, any size will do. but most fittings, regulators, distributors, couplers etc. are set for 5/16".

    Cheers.

You should. You pay good money to get into kegging. You only have to clean and saintize one bottle now.
