What’s everyone been paying for FO singles? Usually $4.50-$5 for what we’ve received in Norfolk, but the Glass Candle Grenades I saw at my local bottle shop yesterday was $7! Implementing the Maine Beer Co pricing model?

Here in Manhattan they've always been around $7.00. Looking at Beermenus the places selling it to go are charging $6.89/can before tax.

Much like SingleCut, I’ve stopped buying these beers as well as kcbc, Greenpoint, etc. They’re just not worth the price. In fact, I’ve pretty much stopped buying singles, period. I’d rather buy 4-packs or 6-packs where at least it usually averages less than $5 a can.

KCBC had some of the most expensive cans right out of the gate. They’ve gotten closer to justifying their price but that annoyed me enough to ignore them for the most part. SC is a joke but I find FO not as pricey. I think I pay $5/can typically and I’m not mad about that.

If I bought 4 pks of every beer I was interested in (especially if I've never had it before) I would need 6 fridges, and if I had to drink 4 of each I'd be tired of the lack of variety - or worse, pissed I'm stuck with 3 I don't like, so for me I usually don't mind paying a little premium to get the variety.. however, there definitely a limit to my comfort zone, and single cut is consistently the biggest outlier beyond that/...

Glass Candle Grenades on tap is really good.

I stick to what I can afford. I buy from breweries I trust and styles I like. I’m not paying $7 a can for Greenpoint (or Foreign Objects), even though I usually like their IPAs, anymore.
I got a 4-pack of Flow from Barrier a few weeks ago. It’s not bad, it’s not my favorite, that’s for sure, but I drank the other 3 either at the beach out of the can or that last “don’t want to drink anything that good” beer of the night.

I’ve actually saved a lot of money on beer since I started doing this about 4-5 months ago. My modest beer fridge (fits like 30+ cans) is usually still full most of the time.

Pretty amazing how you're not saving any money at this point - or $1 at most - by buying a 16oz can from a store instead of having the same beer on draft, out at a bar.

Absolutely right. Though also worth pointing out that (at least on the DIPA side of the equation) those beers are generally coming in a 12oz glass.

Personally think it’s fucking crazy how prices have changed in NYC on both sides of the fence.

Tell someone in 2012 that in 2018 people would be tripping over themselves buying $20/4 packs direct from breweries and paying (sometimes north of) $2/oz for the rarer sour/ba stuff at bars, and that most “normal” beers were going to run you $6-8 for a 12oz glass, and they would have laughed in your face.

The craft beer market, like most other markets right now, continues to increase in price while domestic wages have not increased at all in many years. Might get to a tough spot for the industry in the years ahead, considering it’s a luxury item and will be among the first things people cut out.

The pricing for stuff like this and Singlecut is nuts.

So, are these packaged beers now 'sitting' vs. being purchased right away at retailers?

    Cheers!

Food Emporium (egregious gouger) has 8 different singlecut cans in stock per beermenus, ranging from 6.99 to $8.99, with most at $7.99. All warm.

    Bread & Honey has 3, $7.50 per.

Drinking a Foriegn Objects Future Sight right now and wow! This session IPA packs so much flavor for a beer at 4.2%.

I also noticed that this beer was brewed in the Bronx. I'm guessing that they have two production facilities now?

There was no mention of this release on Instagram and they don't print any canning dates, but I took a gamble at it was worth it for $17 for the four pack.

These guys fly so low under the radar and everything I've had from them is right up there with Grimm, Finback and LIC. Very consistent formulas and quality.

Regarding the Singlecut overstock, it seems they have dropped their prices on everything as of late. I bought a 4 pack in the Poconos for $15.

They don't have hours on their website or facebook, I'm assuming that means the brewery isn't available to the public.
I had a Willful Delusion of False Perception at my local World of Beer a while back and was wondering how I could reliably get my hands on fresh cans.

Follow their Instagram here https://www.instagram.com/fobeerco/ Generally speaking, they will post can releases that are headed to retail distribution in NY state.

Their distributor in NY is Remarkable Liquids who can be found here https://www.instagram.com/remarkableliquids/ and here http://www.remarkableliquids.com/

I'm not aware of them ever doing any sort of can releases at a physical location, and they seem to be brewing in a few different locations at moment.

    Thanks for the response.
If beermenus.com is reliable it looks like I can get some of their stuff reasonably close to my place.

I'm drinking the helles lager and am thoroughly enjoying it. The can reads

Brewed and canned by Foreign Objects Beer Company, Pottstown PA.

Are they being contract brewed at Sly Fox or did FO open up a location in Pottstown?
