I have been working at a brewery for the last year and change as a brewing supervisor. I have gained quite a bit of experience but would like to acquire a formal education in brewing. I live in Northeast Pennsylvania so it would probably be best to complete the courses online, but maybe I can find some colleges that have some sort of fermentation science courses? But, I'm figuring an online course would be more well-rounded. Give me your two cents.

I assume you mean in charge? OJT is the best teacher. One could learn water chemistry online I guess.
You have to know something about schools, if there not publicly funded they are in it to make money. So they require prerequisites allot. Or just cost more.

I think he meant what he said. Working for a year and change...meaning a little over a year. Maybe I missed some sarcasm? Anyway, I'm going to be taking the online Siebel Concise Brewing program starting in a couple weeks. I was planning on doing the UC Davis Master Brewers Program but got on the waiting list for 2014 and don't really want to wait that long...

I took that online course too. I feel that I did learn a lot, but I still can't seem to get my foot in the door and a brewery or brewpub. I unfortunately live 35ish miles from my nearest brewing facility, so I'm not in a good spot geographically either. Good luck and Prost!
