Will be in Fort Collins next week and was wondering what would be recommendations for brewpubs/bars? will visits Odells and Funkwerks but was wondering about other smaller brewpubs also any recommendations on bottle shops would be appreciated Thank you
Choice City Butcher & Deli for a great sandwich (get the CO Buffalo Reuben) and best beer list in FoCo probably (?)
x2 with Choice City....best food and beer combo. And the Buffalo Reuben is where its at. I'd give the best beer list in Foco to either Tap N Handle or Mayor of Old Town though. Tap n Handle was always my favorite bar in FoCo, and they somewhat recently upped their game by devoting a number of taps at all times to sours, but Mayor does a better job showcasing all the local breweries and is the better stop if you plan on buying flights or half pours of drinks. Horse & Dragon is a great young brewery worth checking out. And if you have a car, you can head 20 minutes south to Loveland and check out Grimm Brothers and Verboten.
I have been a fan of Fermentedly Challenged map selection on breweries (and news). http://www.fermentedlychallenged.com/p/northern-colorado-brewery-map.html
Read my mind. The taps at Choice City are dope but you can't beat the Mayor for selection (if you have limited time go there to try lots of FoCo breweries at once). Eat that reuben and mosey over to the Mayor, shit is fantastic.
Brewpubs: Odell, Funkwerks, New Belgium, Horse & Dragon, Equinox, Black Bottle, Zwei Bruder and Snowbank are my favorites and that's only half of them. In Loveland Grimm and Verboten are worth checking out too. Bars: Tap & Handle best tap selection, Mayor Of Old Town 100 taps, Choice City awesome taps and food, Gravity 1020 has great food (maybe best food in town), connected to Ft. Collins Brewery. Bottle Shops: Ft Collins has Wilbur's, Supermarket, 287, Pringles and Ram. Loveland has Liquor Max.
Might I throw in a recommendation for Coopersmiths? Excellent food and their Punjabi IPA on cask is always very good.
