Fort George 3-way IPA

Sorry. Was in a hurry. Three cases 'left'. Only picked up two 4 packs. I'm not greedy.......

 

I Randomly walked into Ken's Market in seattle on queene anne at 6th and w mcgraw and saw cans of 3way from 7/8 on the shelf. So if anyone wants to experiment with two month old cans there were about 3 4packs...try it out

 

Love 3way wish it would last for ever!

 

There's still some at Tukwila Total Wine as of yesterday.

 

It can still be found around in keg/growler fills for those who prefer growler to cans.

 

We shall all miss you dearly 2014 3-way IPA, you gorgeous gal you.....

 

East Moreland golf course has cans left for $6 a pop. 7/30 canning date.

 

Unlike 3-way, Heady is brewed every week, 52 weeks a year...Just a very small distro area.

 

Like many, I wish 3way would stay. Curious to know if there are any comparable beers out there.

 

I thought 3 Way was quite similar to Hop Venom except Hop Venom was sweeter and stickier.

 

FWIW, I had one on tap yesterday, at Draft Pics, a sports bar in Mount Vernon. Howdafuq it's there, no clue.

 

Really unique IPA. Breakside Wanderlust seems similar in my opinion. Hop Venom seems much sweeter and stickier as a commenter noted above

Agree....wanderlust has been my go to ipa since the departure of 3way.
I don't see hop venom as a comparable beer. It's a favorite of mine, but doesn't resemble 3way.

 

Some info to be shared that I gained last night talking to someone from Fort George, perhaps this isnt cool to post but hey, its gonna come out sooner or later...
The breweries for next years 3way have already been decided, all I could be told was that it will be one Washington Brewery and one Oregon brewery (barley browns not being one of them, apparently they have said no to fort george twice now). Even if I did guess which one the breweries were, I'm sure he wouldn't of told me if I was right. But I did mention shooner exact, iron horse (-I would hope not....)
Fort George's fresh hop IPA is already gone not to return (didnt even get to try it )
Java the Hop will be back ( I think he said next, this excites me very much) but it will be a new recipe.- (it wasnt broke, dont fix it haha)
Next years 3way will be available for a whole entire month extra due to more ingredients for it already being contracted.
There will be a new winter offering from them as well.
Wax dipped bourbon barrel aged cavatica should be available around the holidays, closer to the new year.
With how huge 3way was this year, I asked him if it will ever EVER be brought back and did not get a yes or no answer....

I played the same game with Tim (their rep) a couple weeks ago. I managed to eliminate Fremont, Bale Breaker, Black Raven, and Elysian from the Washington list before he told me to stop.

 

My guess is a Widmer/Redhook/Ft George collab.
