Did not see a thread for these guys. I think they deserve one . But I had a query. Fanzine now seems to be a yearly beer like 3 Way. Grains of Wrath last year..now Grape Lotion as collaborators. Should they be separated on the ratings?
Since we are talking about FG, did anyone else join their Lovell Auto Co club and get an email yesterday with this tidbit of info? I know this came on April Fool's Day and they did add in the "No foolin'" comment, but I might be a little weird because I think this sounds pretty tasty so I hope it's real. The image with it was a green bottle, which makes me think there is also no hops in it. (Again, if it's real.)
If Fanzine has a different recipe each year, I would argue that each edition needs a new listing, like we already do with 3-Way. Look at Sierra Nevada Oktoberfest: There are different collaborators every year, and even though the beer style remains the same, each edition is different enough to merit its own listing.
A friend brought me back a can Ft. George Beer Number 1 Take 3 back, and there's 2 listings for it. Same beer? Can they be combined? @John_M
I haven’t had anything from these guys in years. I grew up close to there however. Tried a lot of their stuff in the late 2000’s. I see it’s starting to hit shelves in the SF Bay Area. Not sure if this is a new development or the first time I noticed? I seem to remember they’ve got a good lineup overall.
I can confirm Jane’s Beer Store in Mountain View. Their employee gave me the impression there was a lot more on the way.
I saw Palo Alto Liquors got some Ft George in the past week. I was pleasantly surprised as I enjoyed drinking their beer when we visited my son who was going to Seattle U at the time. My plan is to hit them this weekend and pickup some!
I dunno what you guys will get down there..but FT.George can do some stunning beers ( Cathedral Tree, Crysknife and Suicide Squeeze)) and some fairly average( THe Optimist). The special beers are usually superb.
