Hitting Harpoon Beer Hall, then plan on getting Trillium bottles before leaving. Been to Row 34. What else is in the area good beer.
Blue Dragon on A St. had a nice list last time I was there, although not a beer destination on its own. I hear Babbo also has a pretty good tap list. Pastoral's list has been fairly pedestrian and Tavern Rd. was bottles only, both pretty disappointing given their menu and aesthetic (which would both typically suggest some more attention to beer).
Further down Congress St toward South Station there are a few restaurants that have a bar - Pastoral and Tavern Road. Pastoral's got a few things worth drinking - http://pastoralfortpoint.com/ although if I remember correctly they sell everything in ~10-12oz glasses (and charge full Boston prices) If you go further toward the water there's a few places that are newer that I haven't been to - such as Committee (http://committeeboston.com/) - as well as a whole bunch of cookie cutter gigantic sterile feeling places such as Jerry Remy's. If you cross over the river into downtown boston about a 10 - 15 min walk from Trillium is The Merchant (http://themerchantboston.com/#menu) which usually has good stuff on. At that point you're near downtown so you might as well go to Stoddards/ JM Curley as well.
Besides Row 34, there's no much else in the area for craft beer tap lists or bottle lists unfortunately. A few bars in the area have a few "craft beers" (Sam Adams, Harpoon) but that's about it.
Worden Hall had Maine Beer Lunch on last time I was there. Kinda douchey but better tap list than most in the area: http://www.wordenhall.com/
Also one of the most overpriced tap lists in town. Looking at their website, the prices are down a bit, but on my visit a few weeks ago they were charging $9.75 for a 10 oz. pour of Maine Beer Zoe. I see this week's lunacy is $12.50 for a 10 oz. pour of Evil Twin's "I Love You With My Stout." No thanks.
I thought I read somewhere (a year ago? two?) that a Gingerman was coming to Fort Point. Did anyone else see that?
Row is my favorite. Babbo is next but the tap list is limited. The food is good for a non-seafood option. Unless Pastoral hired people that know how to cook and the owner isn't a full-on douche anymore I would avoid that place. For the rest of South Boston, I like Local 149 for beers and drinks but don't think the food is ever worth it. Warden Hall has some pricey stuff but a few affordable drafts if you just look through the menu. Food is decent too. It's by far the best 'beer bar type place in southie right now and possible second in the area after Row 34
Saus near Haymarket is fun to check out. The Merchant, Stoddard's & jm Curleys are not far away either. All are within a 20 min walk from Trillium.
Yeah, Ginger Man has been trying to get into Boston since like 2012. They failed in 2012 and tried again to get approved for a Fort Point space in early 2014, but I'm assuming that got quashed because now it looks like they'll be opening in the Financial District, not Fort Point/Seaport area. Sounds like it'll be huge. If they do actually finish construction in Dec. 2015, I'd guess they're aiming to open in early 2016.
Odd location ... hope they don't expect to do much business on weekend afternoons. Even weekend nights after 8pm can get slow. How many times has the location across the street changed over? Too many for me to count. I'm all for it though ... another place serving great beer I can easily get to on the blueline.
