Best Bar/ Taverns: As mentioned by windedeel SW- 800 degrees Three Fires -10-12 taps, all craft, great food. Downtown- Dash-In, 15-20 taps, all craft (Good beer and has some fairly good food choices near by) NE- Dickys Wild Hare- 20+ taps, good food (A personal favorite. Good beers on tap and great food to go with it. Especially the BBQ. Usually have FFF Zombie Dust on tap) East- Trion Tavern, New Haven 50+ taps, tons of FFF,decent food.(Lots of taps, but fairly expensive for a good majority of their products) Best Liquor Stores: West State Belmont Beverage (Best bottle selection in town. Bob does a great job of getting in solid product) Cap & Cork (Varies by location. Shop on N. Coliseum Rd has a good selection)
Fort Wayne is a gold mine of bottle shops as far as I'm concerned. The top 4 rated shops on the other site each had BCBS and one offered me a case discount, which I gladly accepted. They had tons of other stuff that peaked my interest but $$$ became a problem. Sorry, I can be no help for the bars as I was just driving through.
I endorse everyone's comments. All four are great places for beer. Trion keeps an updated tap list. http://www.triontavern.com/trion_tavern_beers_on_tap2.php
No kidding. I've been going to that area to help my brother renovate a condo for our mother, and when we need to make a HD/Lowes run, we have to go to Ft. Wayne. I think I'm going to push for a late run there, and throw this place out there on the way! (I'll be back there next weekend, and probably the next few weekends after that)
