Fou Foune: Completed Trades

You basically need around $40 worth of limited beers that includes 1 solid somewhat hard to get beers, possibly brewery release only. Here are my 3:

1x CW16 + 1x Sang Noir
1x Kern Citra + 1x 50/50 Eclipse Elijah Craig's 12
Got 1x V014 for one of my Fou '14 as a part of a larger trade.

 

1 trade was Fou' 2013 for Westbrook BA Capn Skoons + BB Siberian Black Panther

Another was Fou' 2014 for DB Cake

 

Fou for db cake I'd do all day.

Anyway, just to complicate matters, you can trade easier to get bottles for Fou if you're willing to go international. It's not quite as expensive as you might think.

I've traded it for seasonal releases like Bruery stuff, kbs and bbpt5 and Dark lord for example.

Since you're in Florida, try putting up some ccb, Huna and zukhof would get it done for me.

 

Try international, its much easier to get.

I completed a Fou Foune + for an Assassin

ive seen fou got for ddg also 1:1

 

What shipper did you use and how much was the shipping? Are there specific things you have to take into account when shipping internationally?

 

Traded my Fou Foune 14' for a DDG b2

 

I shipped 20lb boxes

Approx 75.86 from printing my label at home. Other shipment was around 75 as well.

both boxes to Netherlands.

One box even arrived in a week

 

Base trade was BG&E + 750 of Good Morning for a Fou.

 

Do you ship usps for international?

 

Yeah I did, Fedex and UPS was more then Double the price.

Here are my suggestions-

Develop a trading relationship with someone international. Fou Foune is not difficult to acquire since the bottle limits are reasonable at the source and it is inexpensive. A lot of international people do not obviously have access to US beers so they are more than willing to trade F-F for stuff like Darkness, Dark Lord, etc.

Having said that, some international people are miffed that all the US people want is F-F and nothing else. So start with some of the lesser bottles and soon F-F will be offered routinely.

My international trading buds are good people interested in trying BA beers and DIPA's with lots of great beer routinely exchanged.

 

It's worth anything you'd have to give up for it.

I traded Art for fou '14x2

 

Ive done a lot of trades this year with fou '14 (all of which are me trading away the fou). Maybe some were too "generous" but here is what I have done.
1. 2 fou for Mocha Wednesday, and DDG
2. 1 fou for Atrial and MvB then expanded another Fou for V013 and Biere de Miel
Turns out the MvB is probably the best tasting beer ive had this year.
3. 1 fou and 3f OG for LPG and Beat Russian River
4. 2 Fou for Cable Car 2013. Which @mythaeus is weeping the benefit of this trade tomorrow night.
5. 1 Fou + Hill Farmstead Anna for Life is Like from Cigar city.
6. 3 Fou + Gueuze Lambic Bio + Mamouche For KBBS (Thanks Al for setting this up)
7. 1 Fou for CW16 + Sang Noir
8. 1 Fou for Kern Citra + 50/50 Eclipse Elijah Craig's 12

I do not think im an expert on Fou, and maybe ive been generous. But all the beers Ive gotten I really wanted so sometimes you got to be generous to get what you want right away. The tough thing with Fou is that its one of those beers that people trade big beer with big beer for. Meaning just because you put up a lot of dollar amount of beer doesnt mean someone will give their fou up.

Ive also been offered and turned down: 4 Fou for 2012 Blabaer, 4 Fou for 2013 BVDL, 3 Fou for DBhuna
1 fou for LPF '10, and about 17 other private messages (really im not kidding).

 

^ This. All day long. With one exception all of my FF this year is going to regular trade partners/friends.

For the umpteenth time I will say that not everyone gets Loons from the source and the prices can be a fair bit higher as a result. I paid between $15-30 this year.

 

I think the 2 Fou for Cable Car was a great trade.
