The Prop. side would probably have to add. However, this is all highly subjective of course. Those into lambic know how hard FF is to come by and trade for. However, crazy things happen all the time and their is no set value, so 1:1 to FF is possible. It's more like: post ISO: FF FT: Prop (possibly crickets, maybe a reply or possibly more if the stars align) post ISO: Prop FT: FF (inbox implosion) There are just many more people on here with prop than there are with FF really is what it boils down to.
I guess the Prop should wait a few years just like how BCBVS is trading high now? I understand what you're saying
lol I'd say thank you on the congrats but that makes it sound like I won a trade which imo I didn't. Port Damon - $15 limit 2 , bottle count unknown likely <2,000 how many who knows, first batch may or may not be released yearly , brewery only Fou Found - $10 at brewery limit 6 (so I've been told) 3,000 bottles, brewed every year, available in a few different countries Prop is a different story but I'll focus on the above 2 since I just did a trade for them 1:1 I was curious to ask the value of Fou to see if I was off at all before posting an ISO:FT getting crickets and being off, but what I've learned recently if you ask 1,000 people if Port Damon : Fou Foune regardless of what they say as long as the 2 people trading are happy thats all that matters. ( Of course there are situations where people who are new to craft beer may trade away something that trades very high for something that trades very low, but it's a learning experience when you are new )
honestly, if there's any beer out there that could be a "currency" it's probably fou. it's made every year, has pretty much the same yield every year, no one ever complains about batch inconsistencies, and it trades high enough to make it useable as a currency (i.e. someone could actually use multiple fou founes to trade upward). in my multiple years of browsing BA and other trade forums, it's about the only beer that i feel has held a roughly constant value (outside of very old vintages).
My congrats is sincere and is meant as in congrats on obtaining the bottle you were seeking. Nothing more. And I agree, what matters is the parties involved being happy with whatever is agreed upon. Cheers!
the bottle limit at the brewery would apply if it were an american brewery, as the sky-high trade value for fou is primarily in the USA. as it is, to get fou in any kind of quantity for a US trade you have to be extremely well-connected with shelton, spend a thousand dollars or more on a flight, get extremely lucky when a couple cases go up on etre, spend hundreds of dollars on BIAB, or do a risky and expensive international trade. edit: glad you got your beer though.
I knew it was being brewed didn't know if it was a going to be a yearly release, by the sounds of it likely every other year between the barrel and bottle conditioning. Not bad.
