Haven't had a chance to try this yet and was looking for some info. 1. What is the bottle price this year? 2. What differences do you get between the vintages? 3. And what have people been trading for it recently? Cheers
1. about 8 Euro at the brewery, much much more if you can find it in the US 2. newer will be fruiter! I think the apricot harvest was big this year. note that Cantillon suggests drinking within a year, the idea of aging these fruited sours is an American thing mostly 3. figure Bramble, Prop, maybe DDG 1:1
Cool, thanks for answering all my questions. Time to dig through the cellar to see if anything I got could pull one. Cheers
Just to reinforce this, every brewer I speak with about flavored/fruited lambics has always suggested you drink them in the first year or two.
The Lou Pepe Kriek might be an exception to this. It tastes great both fresh and with a few years on it.
Always personally heard that fou was best very young, but supposedly becomes a totally different yet also awesome beast after a looooong time aging, like 5 years plus. Just hearsay as I've only had a slight taste once of any fou
