I found 2 bottles of Cigar City Either Or (one of each). I was wondering are these possibly no good at this point. They have to be at least 7 years old. Can’t find a date. Of course, the easy way to answer this is to crack them open but I’d like to gift theses to friend for his birthday.

Doesn't look like there's been a review on either in 5 1/2 years plus, so not sure how much response you'll get, but I'll give it a go.

Checking over my reviews, I'd suspect Either would survive better, as it was much thicker & more "stout-like", while Or was more along the lines of a piney, hoppy brew, which I'd guess would be toast by now. But if your friend is a beer geek, they'll appreciate the experience no matter how they taste.

Still, 9 years is a long time for even the best-built dark beers to hang together. At best I'd wager one is going to be decent, the other shite.

Thanks for your reply. Yeah I was thinking along the same lines after reading "copious amounts of hops" on the label and wondering why someone would leave this in their cellar... especially with a $15 price tag on it.

Fun to try, definitely safe// probably drinkable... but almost certainly past their prime to say the least.

Only one way to find out, pop those suckers open, and taste them. Report back when you do!
