Founders 15th Anniversary Party

We’re throwing a birthday party as a thank you to all of you out there who have helped us to get to our 15th anniversary. If you’re reading this, then you’re invited!
Looking back, it’s pretty crazy that this thing has worked out for us. This article on MLive details how close we were to not making it to this day.
And now it’s time to celebrate.

Party Details:

• No reservations: first come, first served, as capacity allows.
• Ages 21+ ALL DAY
• Draft release of Bolt Cutter
• The FBC All-Stars, a star-studded Founders-employee-only band, will be performing their first gig outside of Founders Fest!

Bolt Cutter/Founders 15th Anniversary goblets

 

Was down there on Sunday, nothing special yet besides Backwoods. They have a nice play on a black lager and an ale brewed with star anise if you like black licorice.

 

I had licorice whip about a month ago when i was there. It was really really tasty. Im not a huge fan of black licorice but i love it in beers

 

I fully expect them to clean out the cellar. In talking with one of the taproom managers last week, the setup will be like a mini-Founders Fest. The front parking lot will be converted into a beer garden to handle additional partons. Also, the word is that they will have a great taplist, with releases throughout the day. I was not told any specifics, other than the manager was very excited and said it will be "one of the best taplists ever". Seriously not trying to hype this, that was the quote. Whether or not that person was privy to the anticipated list is another question.

Choo choo!!! I for one am pumped for this event.

 

Going to be hard to leave that, but I might have to make my way back thru Sunday and post up for the day.

 

It's my 29th birthday this same day, so this is a great present from Founders.

At the very least, you'll know they'll have KBS and CBS.

 

It's too bad they did absolutely nothing extra for Breakfast Stout Breakfast, aside from maybe a Nitro-Breakfast stout. No KBS this year... which is a first since i've been going. Seems like the event was a bit of an afterthought this year with the 15th anni party exactly one week later.

I love the place, but it just seems like the vibe is changing down there. Buddy paid for his 2 bottles, and they never gave them to him... so when asked about it, guy looked at us like we were trying to scam them out of a couple extra bottles.

 

Did he get his bottles or not? I saw this same thing happen in front of me, but the clerk didn't look at him weird, he laughed and apologized for it.

 

after a bit of explaining he finally gave him his 2 bottles.

 

I didn't look at my bottles today until I got home. One of them is missing a label. No big deal, I just thought it was funny.

Hopefully Bolt Cutter is better than CBS, fingers crossed!
