Would love to see more Mosaic Promise. Without question it is my favorite of their hop forward beers. And All Night IPA is cat piss if anyone was wondering. It is horrendous, much like Devil Dancer. I had to pour out my bottle last year and send the other 3 out as extras. Such a shame about Red's Rye, that beer is dope. Dark Penis was quite forgettable as well.

I'm one of the few who really likes Devil dancer but not enough to pay 20 a 4pack

Agreed, Mosiac Promise was excellent. One of the few beers I bought a second 6'er of. I'd love to see that again.

It was on tap a few weeks ago (still might be). No word about bottles. It's a great "big brother" to Endurance Ale, erh, I mean All Day IPA.

    Dark Penis, eh? :grimacing:

Clearly they don't, that was my point. But it might just possibly help their overall sales to pay more attention to indicators of what customers prefer than is suggested by the changes in the new lineup, and considering the number of customers and potential customers on BA, the BA ratings lists are perhaps one such indicator.

I partially agree. Yes it would be best to release more of the highly rated beers if the beer geek community was where most of the money is coming from, but most of the founders beers I see being purchased are their all day ipa and the other year long beers. Breakfast and imperial stout sit on the shelves and in some stores can be purchased all year and those are cheap world class beers.

This is likely correct. Last July, All Day IPA represented 25% of their total sales and Founders expects that number to grow. Stuff like their Backstage series and KBS are a tiny portion of their total sales and profits.

It also appears Founders' core lineup has been their main source of revenue for some time. In 2009, Centennial IPA constituted 25% of their total sales.

Excellent information, its probably a corner of their brewery, just a hobby now. Its tiny weeny to them. I've had CBS and it was mediocre to the caliber of BA beers out now, a baby BCS in the bourbon or whiskey-aged categories; it merely helped pave the way for today. They're a huge house now. They may not want to risk infection, the media could get hold of it and steer their sales for a quarter, which is understandable. If they do more, they can keep their bottle counts lower to still have something. I still have a Sweet Repute, a Curmudgeons Better Half and more recently, I acquired a Doom. Its getting close to drinking time with those babies.

    So just a thought here...
CBS was released in bottles in October 2011. Founders Curmudgeon Better Half was released in February of 2012 (4 months later). Im guessing they wanted to put something back into those barrels...hoping any day now this will be announced!

I'm still hoping for black biscuit to show up in back series! How can they overlook that for so long!

We have tons of Black Rye laying around where I stay. Ræubus not so much gotta look for it. Also if you find the right store you can find some Dark Penance, Imperial Stout, Double Trouble, Breakfast Stout. All from last year tho... Finally found a secret store that carries all of those! There goes the neighborhood

Saw this yesterday myself, thought it was just the shop putting out reeaallyy old bottles at first. After not seeing a layer of dust on the bottle, I checked the bottling date and realized it was in fact this year's batch.

This year's batch is the best I've had in a few years. Extra viscous, lots of great coffee flavor, and just enough chocolate to make its presence known. Not boozy at all like last year either. I know I know, how can THIS years be BETTER????
