It (Backwoods B) is in Louisville now and in much greater quantities than the past couple of years. Hopefully everyone who wants it will be able to get some fairly easily.

How about Harvest Ale? Isn't it about time?

Where did you see it? What was the pricepoint?

I believe they said late October. Can't wait...always buy a case here in Philly.

I thought it was good, if the 15 packs of cans were year round they would replace All Day for me as one of my go to beach beers.

So just to confirm, Louisville, KY has Backwoods, but not Michigan? Am I seeing that correctly?

I'm guessing either the stuff is from last year (possible) or the distributor f'ed up (also very possible).

No it is most likely this year's stock. Distribution in Michigan simply blows anymore.

Not defending Michigan's distribution, but I don't think that's the problem here. Founders hasn't even released this on their own yet (which is why it's extra strange it would be in another state at this point), and isn't available anywhere else. If this year's batch truly is available in Louisville, I'd say that's a screw up on that particular distributor.

Strange it seems that BB and Harvest Ale were all over the place last year by this time, but I haven't seen either one so far at my local Meijer. Wonder if there will be reduced availability this year? I hope not!

I saw this year's Imperial Stout posted on a store's (Redstones) Facebook page a couple of weeks ago, and it is a winter release. They had KBS on tap there with a raffle thing in April, so I figured it has something to do with being a big buyer and business partner with them. Redstones is a great (and huge) shop so I expect nothing less. Harvest Ale just landed in Boston today. Can't wait for the BB and Imperial Stout to come out too. So many good Founders beers on the shelf at once. It's gonna be a good winter. :sunglasses:

Isn't it just Founders having their schedule a bit different? I think they are doing their first release of Harvest Ale tomorrow at their brewery, so it would make sense that it's not really in a lot of spots yet. And they tweeted yesterday that BB is just shipping out now, so it could arrive in respective markets at any time.

Schedules aren't always the exact same every year...just give it some time.

Yes. My guess is Founders sends it out for a "scheduled" release of tomorrow to time with their tap room. Some distributors or stores put it out early. You should see it everywhere next week. Again...my opinion not exact knowledge but it makes sense.

Looked through a few pages and didn't see a mention. I picked up a 4-pack of Breakfast Stout today. The bottling date is 8/5/16.

At least one store here is still clearing out 2015 FBS. We've seen several shipments of it hit over the past 6 months or so. Starting to suspect that they're shipping regional overstock of FBS here because it sells well.

I seriously doubt Founder's would release two Bourbon Barrel stouts with blueberries and vanilla in the same month. What you are describing is Lizard Of Koz which is slated for November. Your source may have been alluding to LOK - or perhaps this time around they decided to base LOK on KBS instead of Imperial.

Founders is selling bottles of Backwoods Bastard onsite starting October 21. This is on their facebook page.

Just a guess on my part - I believe Louisville's distributor jumped the gun. It wouldn't be a limited specialty beer release without this happening somewhere in the country. Probably nothing more than someone getting their signals crossed.

This year's Harvest Ale is AMAZING! Much more in balance than last year's version to my palate. Juicy hoppiness upfront followed by a crisp malt sweetness mid palate, and finishing with a smooth bitterness. I will def be picking up another pack of this ASAP

Agree 100%. Founders best IPA other than Red's Rye.
