Quite a few interesting releases including a "juicy" IPA. https://tenemu.com/news/founders-an...gan-state-exclusive-debuting-in-march/11/2019
Yeah that Unraveled IPA looks interesting. I enjoyed Mas Agave and good to see it back, curious as to what the variant will be.
While I'm glad to see one of Sumatra Mountain or Underground Mountain on the 2020 schedule, I can't be the only one asking...where the F is FIS? And yeah, I'd love some packaged Red's Rye, but that ain't happening. Maybe I'll at least cross paths with a keg.
FIS will be hitting distro this year soon. Seems it should be showing up within the next couple weeks per Founders. It is limited so check yer local shop which carries their limited releases.
Had some at a local watering hole today on tap. Good stuff. Hoping the Detroit pub will be open by then to snag some of these.
Ooooh. I didn't notice that. One of the greatest triple IPAs out there. Only thing I've had that was close came from Veil. Edit: Taproom only. Sad for me...
Tell that to @John_M & @JackHorzempa Seems like there's more of a minority than expected. Maybe if the Detroit tap room opens up by then I'll be able to hook you up.
KBS year round...I don’t know how to feel about that. All those years of chasing a holy grail, standing in lines for the prospect of getting one, a touch of the brown label...and now, it’s just there for the taking, whenever, however many I want. I want it. I want it when I want it, but there should be a little chase, no?
I would be forever in your debt If there's one time of year I know I'm not making a trip to Michigan, it's February...
Just embrace the blissful times we line in. Waste your time chasing a unicorn beer then overpaying for the hype while resting your head easy on your pillow at night knowing KBS is a grocery store away any time you wish.
"Devil Dancer will be the first Mothership Series release of 2020, dropping on 1/22 in the taproom and everywhere else (on draft) a couple weeks later. Expect five more Mothership Series releases to follow Devil Dancer in 2020" I'm really glad they're finally shipping mothership beers. I had a French Toast Bastard here in MN last week and it was probably my favorite Founders ever. Even better than CBS.
Mas Agave was the beer of the year to me. I bought it not expecting to like it and then wound up picking it up every time I saw it until it disappeared.
Found some FIS this year but they really need to make that one at the very least a seasonal again. Just a terrific non adjunct Imperial Stout
I still haven't seen FIS here. I seriously miss it showing up in mass quantities every winter. It was my go-to imperial stout before I tried Narwhal and Expedition, and now that Founders is gone Narwhal only shows up every other year for some reason and Expedition shows up at about one store, not to mention the price difference...
If you mean the regular Old Curmudgeon (not Better Half), it is indeed retired, maybe for a couple of years now.
I would like to see the return of Mango Magnifico, specifically in four packs. Pepper beers have really grown on me over the past few years, but I don't need 25.4oz of anything.
I know I'm in the minority for this but I would really like to see Rum Runner and Doom make a come back, I really liked those beers.
Ever since Red's Rye moved to draft-only I have never seen in on draft only. Wish it was a seasonal packaged beer or something.
Founders produces good beer, but they never put anything out that I would look for. CBS and KBS are their best, but way overpriced. FBS is good, but I can get Pizza Boy's Sunny Side Up cheaper and it is better IMO.
Did you ever have Founders Imperial Stout? When it was produced, it was one of the best non-BA stouts that was better than a lot of small brewery's limited release stouts at like half the price (4-pack compared to bombers)
It had been discontinued for some time but they have just re-released it again. In fact, it should be hitting their distribution footprint now. Keep an eye out for it as it is a very good imperial stout (imo).
