I think I only paid $11.99 for Imperial Stout, and just got Frangelic for $8.99. Seems super cheap for what it is. Are they charging a little less now after all the controversy?

Agreed the pricing is great but I think any little reductions in price are more related to their international aspirations and the new owners experience in moving large volumes of alcohol

They will move A LOT to me at these prices. Just want that KBS Espresso a tier lower and where the KBS around here is @$17.99 instead of the $22.99 I've been paying. Espresso is arguably a better beer at the same time.

But $9-12 for FIS or Frangelic MB? A steal compared to a lot of the market.

Agreed, founders has the best price structure of any brewery I'm aware of and they seem to be planning to use it to sell a lot of beer

No really looking for Frangelic but if i saw it for $8.99 i'd pick it up.

French Toast Bastard is insanely good. Wouldn't want a full bottle, but 4-5 oz pour is perfect.

My fear of hazelnut led me to buying only a single of Frangelic. I made the right decision. I think they probably nailed what they were going for, but the hazelnut doesn't work for me.

It reminded me of one time in the mid-90s when I went to a remote bluegrass festival in NC. On the way, I picked up a 12 pack of hazelnut brown ale (I think it was the Longshot homebrew series Samuel Adams did?) because for some reason that sounded delicious to me and someone else had hyped it. I was dumb enough to not buy a backup beer. So, I got stuck with a beer I didn't like at a place with no vending. Oh well, I drank it anyway.

I bought a 4 pack. I like nutty flavors and Frangelic certainly nailed the aroma and taste of that hazelnut as you said. What I wanted was a thicker beer. It was too thin for the flavor profile. Like a nutty infused "water" off memory. Overall, the beer was good for the type, they prob accomplished what they set out to do, but I'm glad I paid only $9.99 for my 4 pack and probably would've been happier still paying $3 for one single.

I hope Blushing Monk is one of the TBDs listed. Rubaeus is good, but Monk is on of my favorites.

Is French Toast Bastard coming out on bottles (and if so what size/format), or is it draft only?

I think that was part of the Mothership Series, so brewery only for bottles.

Apologies to anyone who sees this as jinxing, but that last barrel-aged release of the year kinda has to be BA FIS, right?

One of my favorite watering holes had it on tap, so some of it left the brewery in kegs.

Yeah, had some on draft in VA yesterday. It was fantastic. Was hoping maybe I could find it in bottles here too, but sounds like a no.

I had it on draft here on Friday in the south suburbs of Cleveland. It was an eight oz. pour, and I’m glad it came that way. It was very sweet, and did taste like French toast. I really enjoyed it, but eight ounces was enough.

I’d prefer the standard version because as good as the aged version probably is, I feel like barrel aging almost always overpowers the base beer, and with all of the other standard barrel aged stouts out there (some them available year-round), the regular version would stand out more and bring something more exceptional to the table.

Tried Mas Agave for the first time tonight. Gross. It’s like the waitress spilled a beer and margarita together and still served it.

Tröegs had a lime gose aged in tequila barrels (Scratch 286) back in 2017. I normally dislike gose and absolutely hate tequila. It was phenomenal.

Mas Agave has a high ABV for a gose, so wonder if that takes away from it?

I suppose it's different strokes for different folks on this one. I liked that beer and your description is exactly how I perceived its taste ahead of drinking it as well while drinking it. You can send me your leftovers.:wink:

I purchased it at my local bottle shop that gives the option to buy anything as a single. Luckily for my, I only bought one.
