I had a total of 14 friends and family come over the other weekend for a tasting. I offered Founders brews and 3 Floyds brews. I had each of them review the beers they tasted on a 1-10 scale. Here are the results:

    1. Zombie Dust
    2. Dreadnaught
    3. Dark Lord
    4. Arctic Panzer Wolf
    5. Dirty Bastard
    6. Red's Rye
    7. Old Curmudgean
    8. Backwoods Bastard
    9. Munsterfest
    10. FBS
    11. Rabbid Rabbitt
    12. Moloko
    13. Brian Boru

I guessed Zombie Dust to be #1 but definitely not Brian Boru to be last. Dark Lord and Arctic Panzer Wolf were a tie. I gave it to Dark Lord since it scored two 10's. I always put eveyone's name in a hat a select a winner for a free box of beer. The box consisted of Coffee Bender, Deviant Dale's, Heady Topper, Zombie Dust, CynicAle and Peruvian Morning.

    Here was my results:
    1. Zombie Dust
    2. Dark Lord
    3. Dreadnaught
    4. Backwoods Bastard
    5. Arctic Panzer Wolf
    6. FBS
    7. Moloko
    8. Old Curmedgean
    9. Dirty Bastard
    10. Munsterfest
    11. Brian Boru
    12. Red's Rye
    13. Rabbid Rabbitt

The lowest score I gave was a 7. All 13 brews were great in my opinion! What I like about the tasting was no one can get any of these beers from around here and it's 2 of the best breweries. Cheers.

In my opinion some of those brews would be messing with the taste of some of the others so bad I think it's tough to rank beers from such an array of styles. Sounds like a fun tasting though!

I had crackers and water for palate cleansers. Everything was 4 oz pours. I also had a bunch of other food but yeah most people were toast by the end of the night

I like the format. Although 13 beers might be too many.
Maybe limit it to 10. Five from each brewery.

Let me know when the Russian River/Hill Farmstead mat up is scheduled. I will be there!!!!!

I agree. Arctic Panzer Wolf is fantastic and Dark Lord is "meh" at best.

That Moloko is not nearly as good now as it was when it was just a couple months old. The same goes for FBS.

Honestly it doesn't matter because it is all for good times. But with shipping and all that it's expensive but well worth it!

All the brews were great! I would without a doubt buy all of them again (if I could). One day I will get to try Gorch Fock.

I was surprised by the backwoods as well. But if the people your sharing with aren't that into big beers that one wouldn't be as well received. Think Zombie is a great way to introduce folks who aren't familiar with good craft beer. Doesn't flood your palate with hop burn and goes down easy on a hot day.

Backwoods is pretty amazing. I was lucky enough to find KBS on tap, and have to say its a different experience than in bottle. Zombie dust is pretty awesome as well. Shame you didn't have a CBS to throw out there...
