Founders All Day IPA...perfect session beer?

Well said but that goes into what your definition of a session is? 6 or more? 9 or more?

 

Honestly? Days off? 9+. So that's what does it for me. I may get a 6 pack of that and an 18 pack of Old Mil if I am going to be home and outside all day. (pun not intended)

 

The perfect session beer? Nah. Founders Pale Ale is the perfect session beer. Cheers!

If find it to have a very funky taste that I'm not all that fond of. It's also extremely thin. I wouldn't buy it again.

 

so what you're saying is, a session beer is only a beer that was brewed with the intended purpose of being consumed for a long period of time continuously? like, all day for instance?

 

Shorts Prolonged Enjoyment is very good and about 3.5% ABV.

 

Yeah it's a great session beer, love this one and schmaltz hebrew dry hopped genesis session ale.

 

Too expensive, slightly too high ABV for "session"-ing, mediocre taste.

 

I enjoy the classic SNPA. and oskar blues dale's pale ale. Which I look at as pretty much an IPA

 

Not as much as I love Southern Tier HopSun, Captain Lawrence Sun Block, Widmer Citra Summer, Victory Swing, Narragansett Summer and Anchor Summer

 

All Day IPA is Founders worst beer by a longshot. A one dimensional grapefruit bomb.

If you like Founder's All Day IPA then you owe it yourself to try 21st Ammendment's Bitter American. I'm all for more good low-ABV hoppy beer options.

 

All Day IPA is one my favorites from Founders. Big, luscious flavor, low ABV. Can't wait until it makes it into cans. Speaking of which:

I really wish that Short's would produce more of this, and can it too. This shit is awesome. I like it just a smidge better than All Day, but really, that designation could change depending on the day/mood.

As we get into the spring/summer mode, we switch beer drinking gears somewhat. I hear ya. We're outside, doing yardwork, goin' to ballgames, bar-b-que's, maybe even keggers! I, too, am searching for that perfect sessionable beverage. Today, for example, I had a Dale's Pale Ale. Hey, this might just be the one---- oh, its 6.5 alc. Still, darn good, and refreshing.

 

Like All-Day IPA, but like Sam Adams Double Agent IPL even more. Just my opinion though.

 

Actually, that's a good call. Double Agent isn't spectacular, but it makes a great session candidate. I like the idea of a "fractional" / session IPL. Lot of promise there . . .

Unrelated to the session beer / All Day topic, but I had Ballast Point Fathom yesterday, and that was fantastic. I'd like a session version of that, please.

 

It reads "session" right on the label, so I think it's ok for the OP to refer to it as such.

 

Big founders and lagunitas fan, i'll be looking for all day by lagunitas never had it!
