I like All Day. It wouldn't be the first beer I'd grab if I'm just having one drink, but it's a good choice for drinking at parties.

    Simcoe is also a rumor.

Citra was used in a variation of Endurance Ale, All Day before it was All Day, but they changed the recipe due to supply. I do not believe Citra is used.

I had also heard that the limited amount last year was due to the shortage of one or more of the hops used that they did not have under contract.

A bartender at the tap room told me they use a proprietary blend. I was on my fourth or fifth pint and I cant remember if it was Zythos or Falconers Flight.

You know that those are not proprietary to Founders, and anyone could get those from Hopunion?

The All Day you see out there now should (hopefully) be all new stock. Came out a couple weeks ago I believe. Distribution was sparse last year due to hop shortages but expect to see this one around for 6 more months. Founders is only doing two true seasonals now. 6 months of Breakfast Stout and 6 All Day. The next round of Breakfast as most of you know will be 6 packs.

9.99 is the SRP and you really shouldn't pay any more than that.

Yes, I homebrew and am well aware.

"Hopunion announced earlier this summer, the creation of ZYTHOS™ ─ a proprietary hop blend created to embody the powerful tradition and aroma you expect for your finest ales and IPA brews."

Proprietary to Hop Union, not Founders.

Just had to be my exacting engineer self.

The Founders guy at a beer dinner said that Simcoe was what they were short on last year. Some other industry people said the same.

Don't know what the real story was.

The problem is the way the statement was framed is a bit misleading. If that statement was made by Founders it is misleading as well.

If a brewery claims to use a proprietary hop blend then one should believe it is proprietary to the brewery. If they use a proprietary blend of the Hop Union they should simply call it by name.

I apologize if this was misleading to anyone:
    I'll rephrase:
A bartender at the tap room told me they use a proprietary blend From Hop Union. I cant remember if he said it was Zythos or Falconers Flight. I'm pretty sure it was Zythos but cant say for sure, because I was drinking too much. Both are blends of different hops in pellet form.

im not totally buying this but here is my response from Founders...seems to me like a generic response without having to get into the exact reasons why product hasnt been bottle dated lately.

    Hi Daniel,
Thanks for contacting us. We have found that, occasionally, dates are rubbed off during the manufacturing process, as the bottle date is printed before the bottle is filled . We are currently working on addressing this issue and appreciate your concern.

    Thanks!

    Cheers!

None of the bottles in the case I opened were dated. The case said 2/11/13 I think.

WAHHHH I WANT MY FBS NOW! -Ugly FBS baby

I can't wait for when they're in sixers and selling at $9.99. That'll be good. Doesn't matter if the bottling dates are rubbed off, haha.

I hear ya, hard to session @ that price point unless you've got the green for it. Great avatar btw...just realized how great some of Ungol's songs would be for beers, like say Black Machine Russian Imperial Stout. Black Machine will take you HIGHERRRRRRR!!
