While I agree that Centennial IPA for example isn't as spectacular compared to the landscape of its competition as it was say 4-5 years ago, I also don't need my dick blown off with every beer I drink with regards to flavor. Extreme hopping and flavor combinations don't "wow" me like other craft beer drinkers need, I just want flavor and balance with a classic style.

I'm not crazy about Centennial or All Day, but Harvest (as noted) and Red's Rye are both outstanding. Red's Rye is the best "rye IPA" I've tried thus far.

I'm quite a fan a founders as well. Ever since I found out about them and have started trying their brews, I've been impressed with everything so far, especially BS and FIS. Next up in my sights for them is the pale ale and porter, probably try to get backwoods this year as well as KBS. Easily top 5 for me.

Red's Rye is fantastic no arguement there. Ill never understand All Day. Its a super malty heavy session beer in my opinon.

I agree, Founder's Imperial Stout is one of the absolute best examples of my personal favorite style of beer.

Agreed. Their RIS is the bench mark for me for how I judge non BA stouts.

Love Founders myself! Went to the brewery for the first time a few weeks ago and had a blast. Such an amazing place.

Years ago in days of old when magic filled the air Founders Imperial Stout was my favorite beer. Thanks Founders.

I love Founders as well. Wish they would do a Bourbon Aged Porter. Had Abita's Bourbon Street Baltic Porter and that was bomb. Would love to see what Founders could do.

All Day might be the only brew of theirs which hasn't worked for me.

Backwoods Bastard, Porter, Breakfast Stout, Rubaeus, Blushing Monk & all of their other Pale & IPA offerings are pretty darn stellar in my opinion.

I'm glad I can't buy stock in Founders, because then they'd probably compromise their quality to please the shareholders.

Founders and Jack's Abby are my favorite breweries. Can't speak for their pales because I don't like IPAs.

Porter brought me in and (name a Founders beer) made me stay.

Their IPAs are not mind blowing like what several other breweries are making right now (like Other Half or from what I can only ascertain from those who've had it, Hill Farmstead) but they are very solid in their balance, consistency and overall taste (Question to self: is this IPA pleasing? Yes.). Believe it or not, there is a place in this world for such a solid and dependable lineup of IPAs. For this, they are certainly worthy of praise. Add to the equation what they do with dark ales, the magnificence that I found in Dissenter and the perennial site jacking mania beer, KBS with it's Canadian cousin, and you certainly have the makings for a brewery that is in line for kudos.

I don't understand the mentality of coming into an appreciation thread only to slam the brewery in question. To make it even stranger... slamming Founders of all breweries? I have yet to try anything by them I haven't enjoyed. It's also somewhat crass to attack individuals in regards to their personal taste. Don't like Founders? Make a thread bashing them, I don't care; I suspect, however, that you'll find a great deal less support for that.

I'm from Quebec, so I don't see Founders unless I cross the border, but every time I make the trip I make sure to grab a couple of bottles to take home. Never a disappointment! Is it Hill Farmstead good? I don't think so... but I also can't buy Hill Farmstead at most bottle shops at a good price.

Really? I'm not the biggest fan of All Day either, but to me it's one of the least malty beers I've ever had - tastes to me almost like a "hop tea" or something.
