Founders is one of my all time favorite breweries. The Breakfast Stout and Imperial Stout are some of the best beers I've ever had. Centennial IPA is a very good IPA. The All Day IPA isn't my favorite session IPA in the world, but you can buy a 15 pack of cans for a reasonable price, so I'm not complaining.

Price, availability, and quantity all add up to make Founders an excellent brewery.

Never had any of theirs but my buddy Blake from Chicago has been recommending them heavily and I trust his taste. I'd dig getting my hands on some KBS/Breakfast Stout, Dark Penance, Dirty Bastard, Porter, IS and Rubaeus.

Will probably be on the lookout on my next U.S. trip.

I have a question, and I didn't really want to start a new thread for it. I have a buddy who's taking a trip out to Michigan this week, and since we don't get Founders out here in CO/WY I figured this was a perfect opportunity to get some. I've had Breakfast Stout and loved it. I asked him to pick up some Breakfast Stout, Imperial Stout, and Backwoods Bastard. Any others I should ask for? While we're at it, is there anything else available from that area I should see if he can pick up?

    Thanks!

While its not among my favorite session IPAs, it does have good body for a session IPA.

Doom was fantastic indeed and Dissenter was underrated IMO.
Not every Backstage was a hit, but the attempt is greatly appreciated Founders!

We all have different tastes. I could hardly finish the snifter of Doom and Boltcutter. Dissenter was fairly nice. Many did not like Mango Magnifico, but I really liked that one, a lot!

Head over to the Great Lakes forum and you will find tons of Grand Rapids, west coast, Michigan suggestions. Usually that exact question.

This time of year you will not find backwoods or breakfast stout (maybe breakfast, but I haven't seen it in awhile) and even imperial is off season, but I know a few of my stores have it. This time of year you will find double trouble, devil dancer, rubaues, maybe curmudgeon.

I appreciate Founders beers, people, brewpub and...beers.
Is Bells a great brewery? Yes. Are there other great breweries in the Midwest, nation and world? Yes.
However, anybody that wants to say anything negative about Founders is kind of ridiculous in my opinion. To the dude who said they haven't pulled rabbits out of a hat and only pulled out turds...really? Brewing isn't about pulling out rabbits (a.k.a. gimmicks or tricks). It's about making quality beer. A turd is rather nasty and I don't think I'd compare any of Founders beers (that I've tried) to turds.
For anybody that feels strongly enough to bash Founders, you must really not like it. So please don't ever drink it again and there will be more for us.
Madd love to Founders and all Founders supporters.

Breakfast Stout and Backwoods Bastard are winter releases, so unless he comes across a 4 pack gathering dust in a bottle shop, you are going to be sadly out of luck this trip. Dirty Bastard should be on your list. Check out their website and the Midwest forum here on BA. Good luck beer hunting!

Thanks! I also looked up some Bell's so I amended my list and added a lot to it. I didn't catch the winter release, that's unfortunate.
