they've had founders for... i don't even know but it seems like forever.

i love buying select bells, founders and shorts from meijers because they're literally always on sale.

And?? Was it free or something???

Hyvee (an Iowa, cornfield based grocery store) carries just about every craft beer you can think of that is distributed in the area.... Three Floyds, KBS, The Bruery (including Bois and Fruet), Founders, Bells, Central Waters, Ballast Point, Firestone Walker,Mikkeller, Brew Dog, STONE, Lagunitas, Revolution, etc. etc. etc.
As well, our local Hyvee had BCBS Cofee bombers and Cherry Rye on the shelf this past year.

Not to mention, Walgreens in Chicago has been known to carry Cantillon, among other goodies... Grocery Stores are legit places to find craft beer.....I mean I guess it can be weird, if only considering the LIQUOR STORE down the street has a beer selection 1/20th as good, and the liquor stores beer is all about a year old (and its not stouts we're talkin)

Meijer at 28th/Cascade in GR as well as Meijer in Okemos get some good brews.

I've always seen it at Meijer. Actually caught a VERY fresh sixer of Centennial the other day as I was craving a fresh IPA. Not bad prices for sure!

April 1st, i believe was when kbs was released this year. I was at work and called around on my break at 11am and the last place i called was a little liquor store near my house that i rarely went to and she said, yeah we got kbs. i was like can you save me some and she set aside a four pack for me.
then i picked it up around 7pm and the same lady said right after i called someone stopped in and bought the rest of the two cases they had..

I havent had it in a while but my friends and i were all about it back in college. Maybe we were just too drunk to realize how shitty it was lol. Unfortunately i don't have a meijer's nearby to go back and try it again.

Founders is hit or miss in Northern IN (availability wise) at Meijer mostly because the distributor, Cavalier, blows with market presence and making sure product is on the shelf. They have, however, brought in All Day IPA which was a good add

My local Meijer's is revamping their long beer isle. No beer for sale now so I am curious what is going to be offered when they open it up. They had a good selection of craft previously. IMO the store manager picked a strange time for the remodel- the hottest days of the year.

For a big chain, Mejier is doing pretty good...I think these retailers/distributers are waking up and realizing it ain't your Grandpa's brews anymore

Having about 5 Meijers in my area, 2 skeetown, 1 gh, 2 holland. I have noticed incosistent selections of craft beer at every store, with some being hardly stocked and strewn about in the aisles to nothing good in the coolers.. but for a while some crappier stores had the best selection, like 16th st. meijer was great and sold individual bottles. (found some samuel smith organic chocolate 22ox on clearance for under 4 bucks once.) but it's sucked recently as with north holland, and gh)
and they are now redoing their beer isle so we will see what the future holds.. excuse my rant I consider myself a meijer professional considering 30%+ of my paycheck goes there.

Meijers selection has been getting better however they usually have a wide range of dated inventory on the floor. I've seen 11 month old bells smitten and two hearted. I've gotten two day old headhunter, then went back the following week and the fresh was gone replaced with bottles three months old. It's tough for a meijer to be consistent with their allocations.
