Have you had it before? It is damn tasty.

Not my fave. This is actually pretty disappointing news to me. Just not a fan of the overpowering Hazelnut.

Yeah man...like I said, had it at KBS Day. I know I'm in the minority here, but I didn't care for it. I agree with Sullenbee - the hazelnut was overpowering, and to me it was bitter and very artificial-tasting.

Whoops, totally missed that in your post. Definitely need to like hazelnut to like this beer.

As a huge Nutella fan, there's no such thing as an overpowering hazelnut taste.

Looks like an interesting piece thrown into the official release statement for FMB. This was not in the original statement listed on BeerNews.org (Not sure where he got it from, but obviously posted it before Founders wanted him to.)

"While there will not be an official release party for Frangelic Mountain Brown at the brewery's taproom in Grand Rapids, the beer will be available on draft in the taproom beginning Monday, July 2. The focus of bottle sales will be in Founders' distribution footprint."

"The next beer to be released in the series later this year will be a celebration of the brewery’s fifteenth anniversary, though the beer's style is yet-to-be revealed. The release party for this beer in November will be Founders' first to require advance tickets. The KBS release party in spring of 2013 is expected to be an even larger festival-type event--be on the lookout for more detail to come."

So am I to read from this that they will NOT be selling bottles on July 2? I thought about making the trek up. I've been wanting to get back up to Michigan for a while anyway.

That's how I'm reading it as well. The 15th Anniversary bottle release party might be a lot of fun though.

They didn't have a "party" for Blushing Monk either, but they had bottles available for sale in the brewery. There were a decent amount of people there, but we were still able to sit at the bar.

This is what I was hoping for. Their quiet Monday releases are really intriguing to me. I don't mind a full-blown party, but I think I'd like the more relaxed release.

Any way we can get some sort of confirmation on this? Any Founders employees lurking BA?

The Better Half release was smooth as silk- I got 2 bottles at 1:30 pm without waiting in line, and got a pour right away from the bar and a seat at a table. I'm hoping we can get some sort of confirmation that there will be bottles available.

Yeah, if I were going, I would not be worried about it. Plus Founders will let you know ahead of time, just not this far ahead.
I am going to California for work, so although I won't be able to get any Frangelic, I will be stocking up on as many west coast beers as possible.

I don't see anything on their page that refers to this- what're you referencing?

Kinda disapointing. But I can see what they are trying to do getting the draft only beers to people who are a long ways away.
