Kinda disappointing??? VERY disappointing. If you ask me they are dropping the ball on this. Give all the bottles for distribution and not take care of the locals?!?!? Not sure I see the angle here, but maybe I am missing something. Blushing Monk and Better Half releases were practically perfect. So now I have to try and seek it out from local stores which a lot rip people off (found 2 stores selling Better Half for $30) rather than get it straight from the source. I am one of the biggest Founder's supporters, but this I just can't get onboard with.

As others have mentioned much earlier in this thread, FMB has been on tap several times before always as a Class 2 beer, not a specialty. That mean's locals (which I consider myself living about an hour away) can fill growlers to their heart's content. Personally I would prefer a growler or two over a few bottles, which I'm sure will be more expensive. I think this is a good move by Founder's, assuming of course they don't decide to bump FMB up to a specialty when it goes back on tap July 2nd.

I live in the Detroit area and consider myself somewhat local, moreso than Missouri who will have better access to bottles than me. Stores hoard that stuff around here and charge upwards of $30. And I am not local enough to go in there and buy a growler anytime I like. The Better Half release was good because I could go there, buy a handful of bottles all in a day.

Sounds like they are doing a release similiar to Bell's Black Note. I can't just get up and go, but maybe it will work out. Not the ideal woy to do it, but could be worse I guess. I hope to get my hands on at least one bottle.

Hopefully it is available in growlers on July 2nd like it was on KBS day.

Seems like the key words to that quote seem to be "that day." Maybe bottling is behind or delayed and bottles will be available soon after the 2nd, but just not forseen to available on "that day."

Posted too soon.....anyways, that is just my thoughts though I'm sure I'm wrong. Just my two cents.

Maybe I'll just head to the brewery on July 2nd to have it on tap and take some a couple growlers. If they have bottles, cool. If they don't, at least I'll be taking home two growlers.

I think the assumption that Frangelic Mountain Brown won't be classified as a Specialty tap come July 2nd is premature at this point, even though is was a Class 2 at KBS release.

I'd love for it to be available as a growler, but I'm not going to plan to make the drive until I know for sure.

I received confirmation from Founders today that this will be a Class 2 beer in the tap room.

I was thinking about doing the same thing, but I am hoping we get a little more info before the release anyway.

If they sell them in growlers, wouldn't it be more advantageous to purchase growlers instead of bottles anyway? I'm sure that the price would be significantly cheaper per ounce and it's not like you will be throwing a bottle into the cellar for years.
