Founders Backwoods Bastard (2012)

been drinking a few left from 2011 and its like.. *gulp* amaaaazing dood.

 

I just got my case secured for the long winter...I'm looking forward to the side-by-side with last years. The 2011 version was the first time I had this and I was very impressed.

 

If you feel like making the drive, Pat's Liquors in Porter got theirs today.

This beer is amazing! Sooooo bourbon heavy! I picked up a case Nov 2nd. It is down to critical level already.

 

Not true. This beer is very bourbon heavy this year. I did a 2011 Vs. 2012 vert and 2012 was just a touch heavier with the bourbon. Might be due to age though.

 

Erie, PA has it. Penn Beer and most of the bottle shops (U pick 6, and 6 pack west).

It finally hit Columbus today and I've got the girlfriend running around to find some while I'm at work. She's the best.

 

Plenty around me, grabbed some last night...

Still got 2 cases held just for me....Im not sure if I want that much or not....

Also, still have about a case of last years release still sitting on the shelf.

I feel sorry for those of you who want it but cant get it.
It is one of my favorite from Founders and without a doubt my favorite barrel aged ale...
Who am I kidding? Time to go grab at least one case!!!!

They had it at Hyde park Kroger and at dutches right down the street. Kroger was 3 bucks less on a 4 pack.

 

Got some at Oliver T's in Grand Blanc yesterday. Said the only got 2 cases in and the cashier said she had seen a lot of it going out so I bet they'll be out by the end of the week.

 

i did find some yesterday. 21 amendment seems to have plenty although limits were 2-4 bottles.

 

I'm surprised Chicago has gotten so little of this...I only managed to score two precious bottles...

 

I got three bottles in chicago and it took more effort than BCS

 

I've got 0 bottles so far and feel like I'm getting the runaround. One place told me to call back Thursday, and surprise! it came in Wednesday and sold out. Another place says they have it but it's "not in the system yet" and they'll call me when it is. What are they waiting for? I'm not holding my breath. Another place claims they haven't got any yet, when all of their other chain stores have got it, and I should call back next week. I've heard this story before from the same place -- "huh, we were supposed to get it this week, but it wasn't in the delivery". It happens so often, to this one store only, that I have a hard time believing it. They seem to be a black hole in the normal Chicagoland distribution system.

In any event, sorry to vent my conspiracy theories here. I'm glad I got two pours last weekend. Now that I know it's delicious, I'm really working hard to score a bottle or two and so far coming up empty.

 

I was told that Liquor Stop in Highland had it for $3.99 a single. I saw 4 packs on the shelf at Nick's in Merrillville, limit 1. Good Luck!

 

I got two four packs in Chicago and it took no effort what so ever. Just saying.

 

They finally got it? I swear that place amazes me sometimes. it's probably all gone by now.
