Every time I try to age this beer....I can't. Perhaps a case will help remedy that this year ^^

Founders = taming bourbon barrel flavors to dance to their tune. So talented.

I love this beer. The 3-8 months age on this one is incredible. Never been able to hold on to one longer than 8 months, but I bet it's great past then too.

Unfortunately normal is you may be able to land one bottle, one 4-pack if you're lucky and the hoarders have left some scraps.

I am looking forward to trying it this year. I've never had a scotch ale aged in Bourbon Barrels.

I found some this weekend in NYC (I believe they were dated 9/23/12). I wanted to buy all they had, but it was so overpriced ($8.50 per bottle) that I had to limit myself.

9/23/11 is more likely, since the 2012 batch hasn't left the brewery. Still a great find despite the price, I doubt I could find any of this stuff with a year on it on the shelves anywhere.

I'll check again when I get home. I was quite shocked that it was only a week old.

That's insane, it should be $14.99 a four pack.

Yea, Founders will never make it this far. If we ever got Founders in Bakersfield we would be charged upwards of $50 for a single 12oz KBS, and or a single 12oz bottle of BCBS! Good thing you can always trade for these beers! I have never had BCBS but Backwoods Bastard is amazing!! To me its Reminiscent of Firestone ABACUS and Double Double Barrel Ale!

Is this stuff that hard to get a hold of? I remember being able to just go to the store and get it off the shelf when it was released. Is this something I should go out and get at release day?

I've never had a problem finding it, but I know it's something that won't be sticking around for months on end like Breakfast Stout. Again, not as impossible to come by as KBS, but I wouldn't wait more than a couple of weeks at most, at least in my experience.

Ok, that's what i was wondering. Kinda like a Shorts release. Grab it when you see it but I don't need to rush out after work on release day and call 5 different stores looking for it either....

glad i still have 6 or so of last year's stashed away... i know what i'll be opening up tonight! as much as i love KBS, this is probably founder's top for me, especially given the availability and price
