Even if my memory was off. 6 bucks for 10 ounces and I can walk into the gift shop and get 12 ounces for 3 bucks? Makes so sense.

Your logic is flawed. Any BMC beer is roughly $3.00 -$5.00 a pint at pretty much any bar. You can buy a case of BMC for $17-$25 a case at any retailer. 24X3 = 72, 24X5= 120 That is a 5X markup for a shitty beer. And you're upset at a 1X markup? It's actually cheaper to drink Great Beer at Founder's Tap Room.

Apparently you've never been to a brewery before. That's how prices work man.

I recall asking the bar tender about the big price difference... I recall it being $7 or $8 for a glass. Def had one and then bought. A few 4 packs at $12 a pop

I've been to a fair number in my life. Backwoods should be a class one and not a class three given its price point. Maybe a class two.

Beer at the bar/brewery bar costs more than at the store. Its the way it is. Back to the actual topic, the release...hopefully Nov 1 like last year

I am not going to give you too hard of a time, I understand your argument, but there is no way it should be a class one, class two is iffy.

I understand not liking the ontap mark up, it hurts me to order one too, but it is fairly consistent and the bottle price and product tend to make up for it. I usually do not find myself drinking class 3s all the time at the Founders, their class 1&2s usually steal the show.

Maybe downtown? Shit was all over the burbs the last 2 years.
I actually grabbed a 2011 and 2012 at the same time last year. Granted it was a store clearing out old inventory, so they had a case and a half of Backwoods at retail price. Was cool to taste the difference without any effort of cellaring.

KBS (not that I care nor really like this beer enough) went a lot, lot, lot quicker. Backwoods is not hard to come by, at all, in my experience.

I honestly find it hard to believe Backwoods is even sold at 3$ a bottle at Founders. I hope they didn't increase the price this year because for a bourbon barrel aged beer that has been aged for 399 days, the price of 3$ a bottle is close to a steal. It's hard to think it didn't cost Founders more money to make and age the beer. KBS is 4.75$ a bottle and that's aged pretty much the same amount of time in bourbon barrels as backwoods

Given what some stores already have it on sale for, I don't see that being the case. It'll be $3.50/bottle, $14/sixer, and $84/case at the brewery like it was last year. Now the real question... How many cases to buy?

Edit: That photo says it was brewed 399 days ago. So it would be 399 days minus the time it takes Dirty Bastard to ferment. So probably right at a year aged in the barrels if it really even makes a difference. I couldn't see that changing the FOH too much.

At least one place in Kalamazoo was told to pull Backwoods Bastard off the shelf(around 4:45pm), and not sell until Monday. I am guessing that the other stores around town are getting the same phone call.

Interesting. How should I feel about the one I'm drinking right now? Bad, good, drunk?

Probably should pour the glass back into the bottle, cap it, put the bottle back in the 4 pack and wait until Monday to drink it. Duh:stuck_out_tongue:
