I detected no smoke this year. It tastes like Bourbon soaked caramel corn.

The 4-pks I've bought so far this year have been 9.99-10.99 or so. The other year they were 15.99.... boy am I not complaining. :grinning:

Reading through this thread makes me want to go pick up a couple more packs at $11. Founders is super abundant around here--one of the local grocery stores has (or had, I haven't been there in a few days) five large shelves packed with Backwoods Bastard. Bell's has been kind of a pain (considering I'm in Michigan) though, the Double Cream came and went without me even seeing it, and I nearly missed Expedition too.

$11 or $12 a four pack here in Texas!

Had it on tap at Founders on my way to a Ferris State hockey game in November, it was delicious. Bought a case...not as flavorful as it was on tap, but glad I bought a case; I'll see how it ages.

I believe it does quite well.

To me it tastes like a bourbon and coke. I like my bourbon on the rocks. Love Founders beer as a whole but I don't get this one. Maybe it's me, but I don't see what all the hype is about.

Which is kind of funny because both just sit around on shelves in Pittsburgh. I've seen both in basically every grocery store I've been in lately.

If you are a fan of scotch ales then this is the one. Only better one I've had was Wulvers..a step above even BB. But for the price not something I could afford to drink more than once ($10/12 oz. bottle)

I went to Madison recently and both were on shelves there too. Also, there's a "secret" beer store here in the UP that's had a single six-pack of Expedition for over a month (sold out everywhere else), but I can't bring myself to buy it. Narwhal was gone within a week; in Madison it's on the shelf for $9.50. God I wish we had better distribution.

We still have Narwhal turding up shelves here, too. I've seen it "on sale" a few times. Breakfast Stout, too.

found it in a four pack (but was able to buy a bottle of it ... pretty expensive though) not bad for an american made wee heavy

Where in the world are you shopping?! I'd buy up both if I saw them:rolling_eyes:

Yep, SE Virginia has tons of Narwhal and Breakfast stout. BW Bastard was gone quick. Imperial Stout started showing up, seems to be here in good number. Hell, I've seen 2013 and 2014 Bigfoot next to each other on the shelf.

Giant Eagle in Shaler, north of Pittsburgh had like 3 cases of Breakfast Stout sitting out on their sales floor as recently as a week ago. They also still had four packs of Narwhal and sixers of Expedition Stout.

Couldn't agree more. I've always liked Founders and happy that people are a fan of this one...but it's not for me.

No Narwhal to be found in Philly. However, I bought up my share when it first came out. Despite others' opinions, I love it.

I don't know why, but VA seems to get a shit ton of Founders stuff. I've been to a couple different Total Wines in NoVA that have had floor displays of Breakfast Stout that look like they just plopped a whole palette of cases right down on the sales floor. Never seen that anywhere else.

I've seen palettes here in Missouri too of FBS
Only one that was tough to get was Backwoods but I snagged up half a case
