Founders big beers usually are very solid. Dankwood was very solid IMO.

Agree with others though, they need to migrate into German and Belgian big beer styles in a barrel for a little more variety.

 

That is correct. It was announced on their Cadre page. That's coming late summer I believe.

Tank Bender, their 20th Anniversary beer, was a BBA Eisbock, and it was delicious.

 

Surprising myself here but while I don't like rum, I have found myself looking forward to this beer.

 

So what exactly is a solid beer? When I hear solid I hear dull average, not like it's really good let alone great.

 

That would be a good use of barrels.

I'd mess w fruit'd BA'd Eisbock, all day- well- all winter at least !

 

I wont get it because I dont drink many DIPAs. Rum would've been interesting as a blackbeard bastard release.

 

Definitely interested in this and will pick up a 4pk. Really hoping they'll do a BA version of their Imperial Stout!

 

I heard delays on this in IL. Too much Dankwood sitting on shelves.........

 

First drain pour in a while. Thought I would enjoy it. Tastes like hopped gasoline. Anyone want the other three sitting in my fridge?

Most saying it tastes way too boozy and being disappointing given how they were excited for the combo.

I felt sort of the same with Dankwood. I was excited for it but felt it disappointing.

 

But...but...boozy is a good thing when it's rum

 

Saw in west/central jersey Mt Holly area. 4pks and bombers. Didnt notice a price.
